Continuing to develop the pioneering PFIEV High-Quality Engineer Training Program to ensure international quality

The University of Danang - University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT) as the rotating President University of the Cooperation of 04 leading technical universities in Vietnam, which have the training programs of Vietnam-France Excellent Engineering Program (PFIEV), organized a Week to review and unify teaching contents, methods of evaluating results and issuing exam questions for subjects in Mathematics, Physics and French in the PFIEV Program.

The program is a collaboration between the Cooperation of 04 Vietnamese technical universities and the Lycée Louis Le Grand high school (France).

Participating in these activities were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Hai - Vice Rector of the University, representatives of leaders of relevant departments (Academic Affairs, Science and Technology, and International Cooperation), Dr. Nguyen Le Hoa - Dean of Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology (in charge of the University's PFIEV Program); Prof. Cyril Germain - Lecturer of Mathematics, Prof. Malek Kious - Lecturer of Physics, Prof. Fanny Talagrand - Lecturer of the French subject (Lycée Louis Le Grand School) and other officials and lecturers in charge of teaching related subjects.

According to Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Hai - Vice Rector of UD-DUT, the unification of teaching content as well as testing and assessment methods for Maths, Physics and French language subjects have  a great significance as this part belongs to the knowledge block of the transitional exam for PFIEV students (after 2 years of studying at the general stage). This contributes to constantly ensuring and improving the quality of training of the PFIEV program and demonstrates its pioneering role in ensuring quality up to international standards.

Attendees worked together, reviewed and evaluated the teaching of Maths, Physics and French language subjects over the past time, proposed solutions and initiatives to improve teaching - learning methods, focusing on assessment, building the structure of the exam, as well as compiling, supplementing and updating textbooks and exercises (with common answers for the combination)...

Members discussed and worked in groups

These proposals are agreed to continuously improve the PFIEV Program, especially for basic modules to catch up with the development requirements of modern science, firmly affirming the quality of training according to international standards, Prof. Malek Kious- Lecturer of Physics said.

The PFIEV program has been officially implemented since 1999 under the Education Cooperation Agreement between the Governments of Vietnam and France. The objective of the Program is to train high-quality human resources to meet the needs of domestic and foreign enterprises.

UD-DUT is one of the four leading technical universities in Vietnam (together with Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam National Universitry - Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Hanoi University of Civil Engineering) participated in the training of the PFIEV Program. The French partners participating and consulting for the Program include: National University of Mechanics and Aeronautical Engineering Poitiers; National University of Electrical, Electronic, Informatics, Hydraulic and Telecommunications Engineering Toulouse; National Telecommunications University of Bretagne; Grenoble Polytechnic National Institute; National Institute of Applied Sciences Lyon; National School of Bridges and Roads of Paris; Paris Central School and Lycée Louis le Grand School.
