On the morning of July 3, Danang International Institute of Technology (DNIIT) - The University of Danang (UD) held a refresher course on the theme: E-Tourism, a strategy to modernize Vietnam's tourism in the global context.

Attending the event at UD, there were Prof.Dr.Sc. Le Thanh Nhan - professor emeritus of UD, Director of DNIIT, Ms. Mai Thi Thanh Hai - Deputy Director of Danang Center for Tourism Promotion, Dr. Cao Tri Dung - Vice President of Vietnam Tourism Association, Chairman of Danang Tourism Association, Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh - Vice Chairman of Danang Hotel Association, General Director of Furama Resort Danang and more than 40 delegates and students attended online on various digital platforms.

Dean of DNIIT delivers an opening speech

Speaking at the opening of the refresher course, Prof.Dr.Sc. Le Thanh Nhan, Dean of DNIIT emphasized that tourism today is becoming one of the spearhead economic sectors, rapidly growing, making an important contribution to service quality improvement and economic growth locally, nationally and globally.

Along with that, the demand for high-quality human resources in modern tourism industries such as E-tourism has become a trend and urgent to form a team of managers and experts who have qualifications and capacity in tourism economic management and know how to integrate information and communication technology applications.

The refresher course provides new knowledge

and experience in developing E-tourism

Prof.Dr.Sc. Le Thanh Nhan shared the plan of DNIIT in collaboration with the University of Côte d'Azur (France) to organize an international master's degree program in E-tourism in the form of "study abroad at home". Students can study at UD and receive a French national master's degree after graduation.

At the refresher course, the experts and speakers had thematic reports, shared new knowledge and experiences on the contents related to the development of E-tourism associated with the application of information technology in order to advertise and promote tourism to destinations in Da Nang as well as in the Central - Central Highlands region and the whole Vietnam in the process of digital transformation and globalization trend.

Although DNIIT and its partners was in the context of being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, they were still dedicated to promoting connection, cooperation for mutual development, ready to deliver pioneer training and provide high-quality human resources in the field of E-tourism. This contributed to prosperity, was ready to promote tourism activities and restore economic growth when the pandemic situation could be under control.
