On June 14, 2024, The University of Danang – University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT) organized the Awarding Ceremony for achieving the quality accreditation of higher education institutions (cycle 2) according to the Standards of High Council for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education, French Republic (HCERES).

Attending the event were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Minh Son - Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET); Mr. Pham Quoc Khanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Quality Management of MOET; Dr. Pierre Courtellemont-Deputy Director of HCERES' European and International Department; Ms. Michelle Houppe – Head of International Cooperation Office of HCERES; Ms. Amélie Bensimon - Head of International Cooperation Department of HCERES; Mr. Denis Fourmeau - Attaché of the French Embassy to Vietnam; Mr. Thibaut Skrzypek - representative in charge of PFIEV; Senior representatives of university recognized to meet HCERES cycle 2 standards.

On the side of UD and UD-DUT, there were Dr. Phan Minh Duc - Secretary of the UD Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Hieu - Member of the Standing Committee of the UD Party Committee, UD-DUT Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Lam - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the UD-DUT Council, and senior representatives of Rectorate Board, affiliated departments, faculties and centers; UD-DUT’s staff, lecturers, and students.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son highly acknowledged, and congratulated UD-DUT and 03 higher education institutions for successfully accrediting educational quality and being awarded the Certificate of meeting HCERES Standards (cycle 2), an organization accredited by the French Republic, implementing according to European quality standards.

These are the efforts of UD-DUT from many years ago (in 1999), starting with the mark of the first four higher education institutions in Vietnam pioneering together to build and implement the Programme de Formation d'Ingénieurs d' Excellence au Vietnam (PFIEV) based on cooperation and support from the Governments of the two countries as well as leading prestigious universities of the French Republic.

“These schools today are honored to receive HCERES Certification not only proves that they have achieved the quality assessment criteria in terms of administrative organization, training, scientific research, support, and companionship with students but also continuously improve to perfect, thereby improving the effectiveness of training and serving society” emphasized Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son.

The representative of MOET hoped and recommended that in the coming time, higher education institutions continue to cooperate, aiming for international quality, especially for key, high-tech majors that meet requirements for national development.

According to Dr. Pierre Courtellemont - Representative of the HCERES Organization, UD-DUT as well as 03 universities were recognized based on the results of a strict quality evaluation and self-assessment process. This was not just a result that reflects a certain time but was based on the results of a process and trajectory that the Schools continuously strived to pursue and improve.

Certified by the HCERES Council recognized UD-DUT to meet the

international quality standards in the period of 2024-2029

UD-DUT always said that improving and enhancing the quality of training and scientific research and ensuring quality according to national and international standards was a very important mission for higher education institutions. This would be a journey that always required innovation, continuous improvement, and no endpoint.

UD-DUT is committed to continuing its efforts to review and improve according to recommendations and consultations of HCERES to constantly ensure and improve the quality of the entire system; towards realizing UD-DUT strategic goals and missions.

A milestone contributed to improving the reputation, and branding of UD-DUT, opening opportunities for cooperation and sustainable development.

This was the second time that UD-DUT had been accredited by HCERES - a prestigious organization, meeting the quality standards of higher education institutions according to European Standards, and being certified for 5 years (from 10/4/2024 to 10/4/2029).

This truly meaningful milestone not only contributed to improving the reputation and academic performance of UD-DUT but also opened up opportunities for cooperation and sustainable development, affirming its pioneering role in the cause of innovation and international integration of the country's higher education system.
