Leaders of the University of Danang received representatives of MacEwan University, Canada and signed a memorandum of understanding

On July 12, 2022, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) chaired a meeting with Ms. Erin Wight – Director, MacEwan International, Canada to visit, work and transfer the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to be signed by the leaders of the two sides.
Also attending were representatives of the leaders of UD’s relevant departments (International Cooperation; Science, Technology and Environment) and the Department of Research and International Cooperation of the University of Danang - University of Economics (UD-DUE).

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son introduced the overview of UD, which is a key regional university of Vietnam, a multi-disciplinary, multi-field university including 06 member universities and affiliated institutes, faculties, branches and centers with 145 undergraduate training programs, 45 master's programs and 31 doctoral programs (including many training programs in English and French).
Leaders of UD expressed their hope and belief that with the orientations and contents of cooperation under the signed MOU this time, it will open many new opportunities in the trend of international education integration, meeting the mutual needs and benefits of both universities.

MacEwan University is interested in training international students
and wishes to cooperate with UD
According to the content of the MOU, the two universities will focus on cooperation: (1) Academic and educational exchange; (2) Exchange of staff, lecturers and students; (3) Coordinating and supporting the visits and work of professors and scientists of the two universities; (4) Joint research cooperation; (5) Seeking funding for international projects to which both parties are members; (6) Coordinating in organizing prestigious international scientific events and seminars; (7) Exchange of information, documents and scientific publications…

MacEwan University's representative presents souvenirs to UD's leaders
The representative of MacEwan University shared that their current priority focus is on international training development, whereby about 1,000 students from 65 countries come to study and research each year.
MacEwan University will consider preferential scholarship policies for UD students when participating international training programs cooperated with MacEwan to share the financial burden of and living costs. the two universities can also cooperate to develop joint training programs including online programs or hybrid courses, Ms. Erin Wight shared and suggested.

MacEwan University is a large public university in Western Canada
The representative of MacEwan University informed the leaders of UD that they will send their students to exchange and study short-term (about 4 months) at UD in the coming October and hope that UD will pay attention and create favorable conditions for reception.
Vice President of UD Le Quang Son welcomed the proposal and was ready to support, assigned the Department of International Cooperation and relevant units to coordinate and welcome the student delegation of MacEwan University, and at the same time promote and coordinate in order to effectively implement the content of the newly signed MOU.
