On November 9th, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the University of Danang (UD) chaired a meeting with H.E. Mr. Carsten Feller - Secretary of State, Deputy Minister of Economy of Thuringia State, the Federal Republic of Germany

On the side of UD, there were leaders of the Administrative Affairs Office and relevant departments (Training, Science and Technology and Environment, International Cooperation); Leaders of Offices of Science and International Cooperation of UD’s member universities (University of Science and Technology, University of Economics, University of Education and the VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education).

At the meeting, President Nguyen Ngoc Vu respectfully welcomed the Secretary of State, Deputy Minister of Economy, Science and Technology of Thuringia State, Federal Republic of Germany, and the delegation visit and work with UD.
The presence of the Secretary of State and representatives of leaders of Thuringia State universities and businesses showed concern and goodwill to jointly promote and connect cooperation between the parties in the future.

Discussion session
The Vietnamese government plans to upgrade the UD to be a Vietnam National University soon (along with 02 Vietnam National Universities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City) and one of the 3 leading training and scientific research centers in Vietnam.
To realize this goal and strategy, UD attaches great importance to developing and cultivating cooperative relationships with domestic and foreign universities, organizations, and businesses, including prestigious partners of the Federal Republic of Germany as well as the State of Thuringia.

Discussion session
More than 15 cadres and lecturers got PhD degrees from Germany, thereby strengthening cooperation between UD’s member universities and other German universities. On this occasion, President Nguyen Ngoc Vu also hoped that H. E. Mr. Carsten Feller and leaders of German universities, research institutes, and companies would help UD establish and develop cooperation relationships with more German and European partners in seeking international projects, co-training, doing research, deploying lecturer and student mobility programs, co-organizing seminars, conferences...
This would be a new opportunity for UD to continue developing international cooperation, thereby constantly improving the quality of training and scientific research, and soon realizing the aspiration for sustainable development in the future.

Secretary of State, Deputy Minister of Economy, Science and Technology of Thuringia State gave a souvenir to UD President

Mr. Carsten Feller expressed his desire that through this visit, the Thuringian State delegation would have more useful information from UD, thereby enhancing suitable cooperation opportunities in line with the needs, potentials, and advantages of each side, actively contributing to cultivating the Vietnam-Germany strategic partnership.

President Nguyen Ngoc Vu also said that recently, UD and 04 leading universities in Vietnam signed a Cooperation Alliance to deploy human resources training in the semiconductor chip industry to meet labor market requirements; UD President also hoped that the State of Thuringia would pay attention and support in training and doing research in this field.
