Students of the University of Danang receive scholarships from the Keidanren Economic Federation (Keidanren) and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI)

On November 28, the University of Danang (UD) cooperated with the Keidanren Economic Federation (Keidanren) and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) to organize the scholarship award ceremony for 40 students with a total amount of 280 million VND (7 million VND/student).
There was the attendance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the UD, Mr. Fujikawa Eita – General Director of Sumitomo Corporation Vietnam, Mr. Katayama Eiji – Managing Director of Mizuho Bank’s Hanoi branch, Mr. Kanagaki Tetsuaki – Deputy General Director of DAC Tech Company.

There was also the participation of leader representatives of relevant functional departments of the UD and its member universities.
Speaking at the ceremony, the UD’s Vice President Le Quang Son thanked the leaders of Keidanren & JCCI for paying attention and awarding scholarships to the UD’s students in recent years.
Appreciating the significance of Keidanren & JCCI’s scholarships for supporting the UD’s students in particular, contributing to the cause of education and human resource training for the Central region and the whole country in general, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son stressed that the scholarship is a valuable and timely source of encouragement for students over the past years, helping them to achieve good results in their study.
This year’s ceremony is more meaningful as it was held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of establishment of the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973 – 2023). The increased number of scholarships (from 20 to 40 slots) demonstrated the traditional, close relationship between Keidanren & JCCI and the UD.

Congratulating the students receiving the scholarships, Mr. Katayama Eiji – Head of JCCI’s Committee for Social Contribution and Human Resource Development, Managing Director of Mizuho bank’s Hanoi branch, expressed his joy and hoped that “they will have a bright and open future ahead”.
Appreciating the importance of education and fostering Vietnam’s talents, with its social responsibility and mission, Keidanren & JCCI have continuously (since 2002) in collaboration with universities, notable the UD, awarded many scholarships to students.
Representating for students receiving scholarships, Pham Thi My Phuong – student of University of Foreign Language Studies, expressed her honour and gratitude to Keidanren & JCCI as well as the UD for their consideration and support.
