The leaders of the University of Danang welcomed and worked with the Mayor of Cluj Napoca and resigned the MoU with Babes Bolyai University, Romania.

On the morning of January 20, 2025, Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son, Vice President of the University of Danang (UD), chaired a meeting with Prof. Emil Boc, the Mayor of Cluj Napoca. On this occasion, UD's leader resigned a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Babes Bolyai University (BBU), Romania, where the Mayor is also a professor and a member of the University Council.

Attending were Prof. Dan Lazar, Vice-Rector of BBU; Prof. Dr. Catalin Baba, Director of the Doctoral School of Public Policies and Administration (former Minister of Education); Prof. Dr. Calin Hintea, Dean of the School of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences; senior representatives from UD-Department of Science and International Cooperation, UD- VNUK Institute for Research and Executive Education, and Office of Science and International Cooperation – UD- University of Economics.

At the meeting, UD Vice President Le Quang Son welcomed Prof. Emil Boc, the Mayor of Cluj-Napoca, former Prime Minister of Romania, who is currently the Chairman of the European Committee on Territorial Cohesion Policy and Budget, along with the delegation from BBU, Romania, who came to visit and work with UD.
UD Vice President Le Quang Son briefly introduced key highlights of UD, which is currently a key regional university, multi-disciplinary and multi-field, ranked among the top universities in Vietnam, with 7 member universities and affiliated units.

UD leaders shared with partners the potential of its team, which consists of nearly 2,600 staff members, faculty, and researchers, with almost 48% holding a PhD or higher, mostly trained in developed countries.
With BBU’s strengths in training and research in areas like economics, computer science, communication, sociology, and the environment—which share similarities with UD—there's great potential for both sides to enhance long-term cooperation, bringing mutual benefits...

BBU leaders expressed their joy and honor in visiting and working with UD leaders. According to BBU's leader, BBU is a public university with a diverse range of disciplines, and it has a strategy to promote research exchange and international cooperation, offering several scholarships for international students to study and enhance their knowledge and culture.
In an atmosphere of understanding and sincerity, the delegates at the meeting expressed their concerns and proposed ideas and directions for cooperation to leverage advantages and enhance higher education connections between Asia and Europe.

Strengthening cooperation with BBU, contributing to connecting higher education in Asia and Europe
On this occasion, in the presence of the Mayor of Cluj-Napoca, representatives from UD and BBU resigned an MOU focused on key content such as:
Enhancing the exchange of faculty, administrative staff, and students/learners across educational levels in the fields where both sides have needs and potential; Establishing international training partnerships; Collaborative research projects, including the publication of scientific research results; Academic exchanges, sharing of materials, publications, and information, resource development, and sharing experiences in library activities; Coordinating to seek out and participate in EU-funded projects…

The collaboration relationship between UD and BBU contributes to connecting Da Nang City and Cluj-Napoca City
On the morning of the same day, the leaders of UD, along with the delegation from Cluj-Napoca and BBU, also visited, greeted, and connected for cooperation with the People's Committee of Da Nang City.
According to UD-Department of Science and International Cooperation, the partnership between UD and BBU over the past seven years has not only boosted training and scientific research but also built a bridge of friendship, connecting the governments of the two cities. This collaboration has opened up opportunities for cooperation in various fields between the city of Da Nang in Vietnam and Cluj-Napoca in Romania.
