On the afternoon of May 19, 2023, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the University of Danang (UD) chaired a meeting with Mr. Watanabe Yoshikuni - Mayor of Kisarazu city and the delegation including representatives of leaders of functional agencies and businesses of Kisarazu city, Chiba province, Japan.

Also in attendance were representatives from the Office, the relevant departments of UD (Academic Affairs; Science, Technology and Environment; International Cooperation; Student Affairs) and the Center for Risk Management Safety Science at UD.

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of UD warmly welcomed the Mayor and Delegation of Kisarazu City to visit and work with UD.

The President of UD introduced the overview and highlights of UD as a national key regional university consisting of 06 member universities and affiliated institutes, faculties,  branches and centers with a training scale of more than 55,000 students/ trainees and international students/ interns.

UD has a long tradition, training potential and provides high-quality human resources for the Central Highlands region as well as the whole country; The Government of Vietnam pays attention and prioritizes investment to develop UD into one of the three leading training and research centers with prestige and international position.

With the university-oriented development strategy on active innovation, active international integration, UD always considers the quality of training and scientific research as an important factor for sustainable development.

In order to realize this goal, UD attaches great importance to developing cooperative relationships with domestic and foreign agencies, organizations, universities and enterprises, including prestigious Japanese partners.

Speaking to UD's leaders, Mr. Watanabe Yoshikuni - Mayor of Kisarazu city, Japan sincerely thanked the President of UD for giving the delegation a respectful welcome.

Over the past time, Kisarazu city and Da Nang city have established a cooperative relationship, through which there have initially been exchange programs between the two sides, including cultural and educational exchanges. However, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, some plans and activities had to be postponed or interrupted.

In the coming time, Kisarazu city and Da Nang city will continue to promote cooperation in economy and trade, cooperation in education and human resource development, of which UD is a large university with great potential and strengths.

In an atmosphere of sincerity and understanding, the leaders of UD and Kisarazu city shared common interests, considering this visit a good opportunity for the two sides to learn and discuss needs and potentials to promote cooperation.

The Kisarazu city side hopes that cooperation between the two sides will bring mutual benefits, contribute to socio-economic development as well as contribute to tightening the strategic and friendly partnership between the two countries Vietnam - Japan, said Mayor Watanabe Yoshikuni.

UD hopes that the Mayor and Delegation of Kisarazu City will support and connect so that more Japanese businesses and universities can cooperate with UD in training, human resource development and scientific research. UD is confident to be a reliable source of high-quality human resources for Japanese enterprises, said the President of UD.
