On July 15, the University of Danang - University of Technology and Education (UD-UTE) held a seminar on "Digital transformation in higher education: How to do it effectively".

Attending were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of the University of Danang (UD), Vice President of the Association of Vietnam Universities and Colleges (AVU&C); Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Cao Tho - Rector of UD-UTE and representatives of leaders of 10 universities across the country (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education; Vinh University of Technology Education; Hung Yen University of Technology and Education; Nam Dinh University of Technology Education; Dong Nai University of Technology; Thu Dau Mot University, etc.).

The seminar was held at UD-UTE within the framework of the activities of the AVU&C

The program was organized by the AVU&C in collaboration with the Club of Universities of Technology and Education in order to create opportunities to share experiences and solutions to promote the application and digital transformation, contributing to the innovation of teaching-learning methods to improve the quality of training of universities in the digital era.

This was also a prominent activity in the series of academic exchanges, scientific research, and innovation among groups of universities under the AVU&C.

Speaking at the Seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of UD, Vice President of AVU&C emphasized that the topic of the seminar had practical and topical significance when digital transformation is having a strong impact on all areas of life, economy-society, including higher education: "Digital transformation is an inevitable that we can’t stand aside".

At the seminar, the delegates candidly assessed, discussed and shared digital transformation experiences from the reality of universities. The presentations of the delegates mentioned practical contents and topics associated with digital transformation methods and effectiveness in higher education such as: Digital transformation at Nam Dinh University of Technology Education; Results and orientation to promote digital transformation of Dong Nai University of Technology; Applying digital technology to contribute to improving the quality of higher education, etc.

According to Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Trung Thanh - Chairman of the Club of Universities of Technology and Education, digital transformation is a way to innovate the university governance, create breakthroughs in development, active integration and competition. “Universities need to pioneer to orient and lead society to promote technology application and digital transformation, in order to catch up with the trend of Industry 4.0.”
