The University of Danang - Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology: Strengthening the students’ ability to meet the recruitment needs of enterprises in the digital era

Recently, The University of Danang - Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology has participated in the international project "Enhancing the employability of students in the new digital transformation world" which will be deployed for 3 years (from January 2022 to March 2024) with a total budget of more than £100,000.

This is a project within the framework of the "Going Global Partnership" program of the British Council including 03 Vietnamese universities: The University of Danang - Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, (UD-VKU); Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City; Phenikaa University; and one UK university - the University of East Anglia.

The goal of the project is to create opportunities for networking and cooperation to share experiences with the University of East Anglia of the United Kingdom (UEA), an experienced university in developing regular training courses to help students prepare necessary knowledge and skills related to future careers in order to be ready to meet the requirements of enterprises and domestic and international labor markets.

According to Professor Gerard Parr, Dean of UEA's Faculty of Computer Science and Head of the Advisory Board of the Project, the necessary knowledge and skills will be designed and implemented according to the model curriculum framework, through which Vietnamese universities like VKU can apply and effectively support students to improve their professional competence and quality to adapt to the increasing recruitment demand in the period of digital transformation and Industry 4.0., as well as contribute to improving the quality of human resources through constantly improving training contents and programs towards global integration.

It is expected that UD-VKU's staff, lecturers and students will have the opportunity to exchange, work and exchange experiences with experts, officials, lecturers and students of the project's partner universities, thereby promoting the quality of teaching and learning, research and innovation, and entrepreneurship in a cohesive network between Vietnamese and UK universities.

UD-VKU has also recently established the Digital Science and Technology Institute (eSTI) within the framework of the ODA project to improve capacity building in training, administration, scientific research, knowledge and technology transfer funded by the government of the Republic of Korea in order to help UD-VKU become a prestigious university with international reach in the fields of information technology, communication and digital technology.
