This strategy aims to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and applied research that support sustainable development, climate resilience, the green economy, and the circular economy.
Under the MoU, the three parties will collaborate to promote entrepreneurship and innovation, facilitate knowledge transfer, and accelerate the practical application and commercialization of research outcomes. Priority areas include sustainable agriculture, food systems, regenerative agriculture, climate change adaptation, disaster resilience, and community-oriented development initiatives.

Representatives from Better Earth Ventures and Xylem Capital expressed their appreciation for UD-DUE’s academic reputation and strategic role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the University in bridging the gap between academic theory and industry practices, while connecting UD-DUE to global innovation networks.
The partnership also aims to bolster UD-DUE’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem through enhanced education programs, incubation activities, startup competitions, and innovation challenges. Joint initiatives will include conferences, hackathons, boot camps, mentoring programs, project-based learning, internship opportunities, and startup advisory services for students and young innovators.

Particular emphasis will be placed on identifying and supporting projects with strong commercialization potential and measurable social impact. The partners will also explore developing sandbox models to enable innovative products and startup projects to be tested and refined before entering the market.
As part of the cooperation framework, Better Earth Ventures will support UD-DUE in designing startup acceleration programs, facilitating market access for innovative solutions, and connecting students, researchers, and startup teams with strategic investors and international mentors.
The collaboration is expected to drive a more dynamic innovation ecosystem at UD-DUE, creating opportunities for students and researchers to transform ideas into impactful solutions while strengthening links among academia, industry, and society.
