UD-UED hosted Lao educators for upper‑secondary curriculum course

The University of Danang - University of Science and Education (UD-UED) has launched a training course lasting over three months on the development of upper-secondary Natural Sciences and Social Sciences curricula. The course is designed for 20 Lao high school teachers who have been awarded scholarships under the 2025 bilateral cooperation agreement.

The opening ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khanthaly Khamphilavong, First Secretary in charge of Education and Culture at the Consulate General of Laos in Danang; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Vice Rector of UD-UED; along with representatives of affiliated units, lecturers, and the Lao trainees.

In his remarks, Vice Rector Nguyen Van Hieu emphasized that the program aims to strengthen the professional capacity of Lao educators and reflects the enduring educational partnership between the two countries. He affirmed the university’s commitment to supporting participants in achieving meaningful outcomes and engaging deeply with local academic and cultural experiences.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khanthaly Khamphilavong described the course as a valuable opportunity to develop a core group of educators for Laos. He expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese Government, the Ministry of Education and Training, and UD-UED for providing the scholarships and organizing the program.

Running from August 15 to November 17, the course includes modules on designing and implementing upper-secondary curricula, Vietnamese language enhancement, and practical exposure to Vietnam’s education system and socio-cultural landscape. 

The university has also arranged interpreters and facilitated cultural, artistic, and sports exchanges between Lao participants, Vietnamese faculty and students, and other international learners.

“It is both an honor and a motivation for us to live up to the trust placed in us,” said participant Chaleunsak Khamsakpasit.
