VNUK Institute for Research and Executive Education-The University of Danang organized a Seminar on experience in building a circular economy in Vietnam

On January 19, 2021, the VNUK Institute for Research and Executive Education-The University of Danang (VNUK) has just successfully organized a scientific Seminar on experience in building a circular economy in Vietnam.
This was a scientific event within the framework of the Newton Foundation's Researcher Links Program hosted by VNUK, in coordination with partners such as Aston University-UK, School of Environmental Science and Technology (INEST) - Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

The conference brought together many delegates, scientists, experts and entrepreneurs from state management agencies, research institutes, universities and enterprises such as: Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Quan - Director of the Institute for Circular Economy Development, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet – Dean of School of Environmental Science and Technology (INEST), Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Director of Danang Institute for Socio-Economic Development Huynh Huy Hoa; Vice Director of the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City Mai Tan Linh, etc.
Opening speech at the seminar, Dr. Nguyen Thi My Huong - Dean of VNUK Institute welcomed the delegates and highlighted a scientific conference on building a circular economy which was held in Da Nang the first time, bringing together many experts, scientists and entrepreneurs to share knowledge and experience together, as well as new perspectives and visions for a sustainable future.

According to Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet – Dean of School of Environmental Science and Technology (INEST), Hanoi University of Science and Technology, promoting interdisciplinary research thereby developing knowledge and operating capacity in the circular economy was the topical topic, in accordance with the goals of sustainable development as well as the Newton Fund ‘s orientation of connection, building the research environment and funding. According to the Dean of INEST, forming a circular economic center in Vietnam was the right direction.
At the seminar, VNUK Institute and partners (Institute of Environmental Science and Technology-Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Institute for Circular Economy Development - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Danang Institute for Socio-Economic Development and Danang Business Incubator - DNES) had signed a cooperation agreement to develop training and research on the circular economy.

According to the cooperation agreement, the parties would accompany each other to implement many activities such as: sharing knowledge and experience; exchanging lecturers and experts; associating training, supporting students to practice and research in the circular economy, and promoting academic exchange, applied research, and proposing solutions and strategies for this field.
At the seminar, experienced experts and speakers in business administration and management also introduced and discussed new models of circular economy, analyzed, compared and evaluated economic values in order to bring opportunities and solutions for businesses to develop and adapt to the integration context in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0
