Recently, in order to actively prepare for the conditions for quality assurance (QA) of higher education institutions (HEIs), at the same time perfect the internal QA system, the University of Danang (UD) organized the online training workshop on "Assurance and self-assessment of the quality of HEIs in accordance with the Circular No.12/2017/TT-BGDĐT.

This activity was initiated and presided over by the UD's Department of Education al Quality Assurance in the form of an online workshop, which strictly implemented the social distancing measures under the Directive No.16 in the context of complicated and unpredictable Covid-19 pandemic.

The online workshop drew the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of the UD, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Thanh Viet - Director of the UD's Department of Educational QA who was also the main rapporteur, leader representatives of member universities such as: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Cao Tho (Rector of University of Technology and Education), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Trung Hung (Vice Rector of University of Technology and Education), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Bach (Vice Rector of University of Science and Education), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Long (Vice Rector of University of Foreign Languages Studies),... as well as 120 officers, lecturers from functional departments of the UD and offices of the UD's member units.

The workshop's content focused on providing information, regulations on QA and self-assessment of quality of HEIs in accordance with the Circular No.12/2017/TT-BGDĐT, at the same time guiding and practicing necessary skills such as: Analyzing content of reference standards, Finding appropriate proofs, Writing self-assessment report based on criteria and standards, How to add proofs, Building lists of proofs to meet the standards and minimum level.

QA and self-assessment of quality of HEIs are regular tasks.

After the opening session and thematic report of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Thanh Viet, the participants actively discussed, exchanged views and shared experience and suitable solutions to the reality of each unit.

With the timely and vivid methods of implementing the workshop and answering inquiries, the participants were able to work effectively and proactively in online interaction conditions, thereby gaining more useful knowledge and skills on related contents in order to build and perfect the internal QA system synchronously, throughout from the UD to member and affiliated units, reaching each department, faculty, division and each officer, lecturer, learner as well as related stakeholders.

With a sense of responsibility and cooperation, although the participants came from different units with their own characteristics, the workshop was organized thoughtfully and successfully, established a system of proof lists, necessary database to continue to be improved, updated, monitored and supervised, which helped to constantly enhance the education quality, prepare for the periodic accreditation of quality of HEIs in the coming time.
