On October 11, 2025, in a dignified and warm atmosphere, the University of Danang  - University of Foreign Language Studies, (UD – UFLS), solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture, with the attendance of representatives from partner agencies and enterprises, university leadership, and generations of the Faculty’s lecturers and students.

According to Dr. Dao Thi Thanh Phuong, Chairwoman of the University Council of UD – UFLS, this celebration marks an important milestone recognizing the Faculty’s 20 years of effort and growth in training, research, and international cooperation—contributing significantly to fostering cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy.

Representing the university’s leadership, Dr. Phuong noted that, despite the initial challenges regarding human resources and facilities, the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture has continuously grown to become a key and reputable unit for Korean language training, meeting the demand for high-quality human resources amid the advancement of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea.

“Entering a new stage of development, I am confident that the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture will continue to build on its tradition, innovate in training, and improve the quality of teaching and research, so as not only to train language professionals but also to serve as a cultural bridge between the two nations,” shared Dr. Dao Thi Thanh Phuong.

Ms. Song Jiyoung, Consul of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Danang, emphasized that the Faculty’s journey of nurturing Korean language education in Central Vietnam has contributed to strengthening the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Korea.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh, Chairman of the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations, affirmed that the Faculty’s lecturers and students are cultural ambassadors who help deepen friendship and mutual trust between the two peoples. He extended his best wishes for the Faculty to continue developing robustly as a lasting bridge between the people of Vietnam and Korea.

In recognition of its outstanding achievements in training and cultural exchange, the Faculty was honored to receive Certificates of Commendation from the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Danang and the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations.

The Faculty of Korean Language and Culture has been offering three undergraduate programs (Korean Language, Korean Studies, and Korean Language Teacher Education); co-delivering a master’s program in Korean Translation and Interpretation; organizing numerous teacher training courses; and effectively operating the Sejong Center Danang.

The Faculty has also implemented many community engagement initiatives and international cooperation activities, further consolidating its reputation as a leading institution for Korean language and culture education in Vietnam.
