On the afternoon of 19 August 2025, the Closing Ceremony of the 25th International Mathematics Competition (VIMC 2025) was solemnly held at Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), the University of Danang (UD).

Attending the event were: Nguyen Dinh Vinh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Danang City Party Committee; Tran Anh Tuan, Member of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Danang People’s Committee; Prof. Wen-Hsien Sun, Chair of the International IMC Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Member of the City Party Committee and President of the University of Danang; Le Thi Bich Thuan, Director of the Danang Department of Education and Training and Head of the Organizing Committee; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap, Rector of UD-VKU.

Also present were international guests, representatives of municipal departments and agencies, members of the Organizing Committee, team leaders, and nearly 600 contestants from more than 30 countries and territories.

According to Tran Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Danang People’s Committee , VIMC 2025 is a prestigious academic event of international stature, held for the first time in Vietnam, turning Danang into a meeting point for young mathematical talents from around the world.

City leaders expressed appreciation and gratitude for the active role and contribution of the International IMC Committee, the partnership of IEG Global, relevant departments and agencies, and especially UD-VKU, whose responsibility and efforts as the hosting institution significantly shaped the event’s success.

The competition not only reaffirmed the international reputation and quality of mathematics education at the pre-university level—and the broader education and training standards of the city and the country—but also served as an opportunity to introduce, connect, and promote the image of a dynamic, beautiful, and hospitable Danang to international friends.

A highlight of the Closing Ceremony was the announcement of results: the Overall First Place award was shared by Team Vietnam and Team Singapore. The Vietnam delegation earned 14 gold, 7 silver, and 19 bronze medals (across individual and team categories).

As the host institution, UD-VKU vividly demonstrated the strategic orientation of the University and the School: strengthening ties with secondary education, expanding international cooperation, becoming a destination for academic events, and contributing to nurturing young national talent.
