Creating opportunities for students to enhance cultural exchange and improve their Japanese language skills

27/08/2025

On August 23, 2025, the Summer Festival - Natsu Matsuri 2025 took place at University of Foreign Language Studies (UFLS) - The University of Da Nang (UD), with the companionship of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Da Nang (JCCID).

According to Dr. Nguyen Huu Binh, Vice Rector of UD-UFLS, this event is significant not only in strengthening the friendship through people-to-people diplomacy between Vietnam and Japan but also in creating opportunities for students to engage in cultural exchange, improve their Japanese language skills, and connect with Japanese businesses in Danang.

According to Mr. Hirayama Keiji, Chairman of JCCID, in the context of the two countries continuously promoting the development of a comprehensive strategic partnership, the demand for cultural and linguistic exchange is increasingly attracting a large community of Japanese language learners and students.

The program featured many rich and creative activities, such as: artistic performances and interactions with artists, a Japanese singing contest and Yosakoi dance competition, opportunities to wear yukata and play traditional Japanese games, and a friendly basketball match.

On August 25, 2025, the Japanese Language and Vietnam-Japan Cultural Exchange Club also officially launched at the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) - UD.

This academic club model brings together many VKU students, including those enrolled in the Vietnamese-Japanese Bilingual Information Technology Engineer/Bachelor Program (a collaboration between the university and NiX Education).

Through the free Digital LMS platform, businesses collaborate with the university to enhance opportunities for students to easily register for Japanese language learning experiences at the link: https://digital.nix.edu.vn/register/student with the N5 Elementary Japanese Program, focusing on vocabulary, grammar, and conversation.

These are truly engaging activities for students to explore the depth of Japanese culture through art and sports, while also inspiring them to learn a foreign language through clubs and community activities, preparing them for integration and meeting the demands of the domestic and international labor markets.
