Creating opportunities for students to integrate and acquire international knowledge
30/12/2025
With a strategy to enhance two-way student exchange programs, the University of Da Nang (UD) focuses on creating numerous opportunities for students, postgraduates, and PhD candidates to integrate globally and master international knowledge at prestigious foreign universities.
Within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 Project, Mr. Tran Viet Thanh, a PhD candidate from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, UD - DUT, had the opportunity to participate in an academic and research exchange program at Politecnico di Milano (Polimi), Italy, one of Europe's most prestigious technical universities.

According to the PhD candidate, to participate in the program, candidates must possess a solid foundation of specialized knowledge, logical thinking, and scientific research methodologies gained at UD-DUT. Additionally, they must strive to improve their foreign language proficiency, IT application skills, and professional working style to confidently engage in an international academic environment.
The program offers significant value to learners, including enhanced understanding, critical thinking, and proactive, creative research capabilities. It also provides a platform to sharpen foreign language skills and global integration while offering firsthand experience in European educational and cultural environments.

During his research exchange at Politecnico di Milano (Italy), PhD candidate Tran Viet Thanh participated in workshops and seminars, and collaborated in group projects alongside professors and fellow doctoral students within an advanced scientific research environment.
In the field of Economics, student Dao Tran Minh Anh (Class 49K01.2-E) is a prime example of a student participating in a short-term exchange program at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (Germany). To secure this valuable opportunity, Minh Anh not only focused on improving her language skills and foundational knowledge but also received comprehensive support from the University.
This included detailed guidance on the application process, such as the program application form, course equivalence recognition requests, commitment letters, and a Motivation Letter. Additionally, she was assisted in preparing two letters of recommendation in English, academic transcripts in English, as well as notarized copies of her passport, language certificates, and other supporting documents required by the partner institution.

According to Lecturer Nam Phuong, Vice Dean of the Faculty of International Business, UD-DUE , proactively seeking information and selecting appropriate course modules requires the close guidance and companionship of experienced lecturers.
In addition to specialized expertise, students should broaden their horizons by exploring related or interdisciplinary fields such as Marketing and Project Management. Gaining experience in benchmarking their home curriculum against that of partner universities, as well as having backup plans for potential schedule changes, will ensure students remain proactive and well-prepared for the journey ahead.

Another notable example from UD-VNUK is Nguyen Tri Dung, a Biomedical Science student who had a valuable one-semester experience at Kyoto University (Japan), ranked among the Top 50 universities in the world by THE.
This journey was not only an academic immersion but also an opportunity to foster critical thinking, integration skills, proactivity, and adaptability in an international learning and research environment. It was also a chance for students to connect with peers through multicultural activities, explore local identities, broaden their horizons, step out of their comfort zones, and understand and develop their unique potential.
