12/02/2026
In the spring of the Year of the Horse, Da Nang proactively prepared the younger generation for a new phase of development. Education received comprehensive investment, not only in modern infrastructure but also in the flexible adjustment of training programs to keep pace with trends.
A place where aspirations take flight
Over the past period, the University of Danang (UD) has implemented a comprehensive set of policies and solutions to support students. Key disciplines have been clearly identified and linked to the nation's strategic technologies.
Building upon this foundation, the member universities of UD continuously innovate their training methods and expand the academic space for students. As a result, many technological talents are promptly discovered and nurtured, achieving high results in domestic and international competitions.
Notably, the project "ShieldNet - A multi-layered AI system to support and protect cyberspace" by students from the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology - UD recently received the 2025 Youth Innovation Award from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union.
This project was conceived after winning first prize in the 2025 Technology Startup Competition for UD students. The research results of the project have been published in two scientific papers at international conferences on information technology and digital technology applications (ATC - 2024, CITA - 2025).

The project "Developing environmentally friendly electrolytes for sustainable electrochromic devices: A green approach for smart greenhouses" by a group of students from the Vietnam-UK Institute for Research and Training - UD won second prize in the 2025 Euréka Student Scientific Research Award. This project also won first prize in the University of Da Nang's Student Scientific Research Award last academic year and was published in a prestigious international journal listed in Scopus, Q1...
These achievements are thanks to UD's effective implementation of a program to support student scientific research, its efforts to mobilize resources from the State, organizations, and businesses through incubation policies, and its development of internal strengths within the classroom.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, President of UD, UD is honored to be selected by the Working Group of the Central Steering Committee on Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation as one of the four universities to receive key investment, serving as a model for the Vietnamese higher education system.
To accomplish major tasks and new missions, especially to create breakthroughs in scientific research, technology, and innovative entrepreneurship, UD continues to leverage the youthful energy and enthusiasm of its faculty and students; while increasing financial support and rewards for outstanding research projects and results, prioritizing international publications in prestigious journals.

Opening the way to integration starting from the classroom
In the context of Da Nang's expanding development space and the implementation of specific mechanisms and policies, the role of UD and its member universities is elevated to a higher level. UD identifies international cooperation as a strategic direction to secure additional resources for improving the quality of training and scientific research, and to affirm its international prestige and position.
To adapt to the general development of trends, universities are proactively adjusting their training strategies to be flexible and relevant to practical requirements. Professor Le Van Huy, Rector of the University of Economics - UD, expects UD to truly become a strategic knowledge center for the region and the country, fully leveraging its role as a key link and leader in regional resources. To achieve this, member universities, including the University of Economics, are implementing groundbreaking and highly integrated training orientations.
Accordingly, the university is at the forefront of developing full-time and part-time English-language programs, promoting the internationalization of training programs, especially talent programs. The goal is that by 2027-2028, approximately 60% of training programs will be implemented in a bilingual format, creating a solid foundation for students to confidently integrate into international learning and working environments.
University of Economics-UD focuses on developing postgraduate training, aiming to supply high-level management and expert human resources to the business community and public and private entities. This is also an important resource directly serving the International Financial Center and the Free Trade Zone in Da Nang, in accordance with resolutions of the National Assembly.
In addition, the school is expanding its training partnerships and degree-awarding programs with prestigious universities in the Top 200 worldwide, gradually raising the quality standards and international recognition of its degrees.
Strengthening the linkages between schools, businesses, and the government, combining training with research, policy consulting, and knowledge transfer, has affirmed the school's core role in the field of training and knowledge in economics, business, and management, accompanying Da Nang on its journey to develop into a large, ecological, smart, and internationally integrated city.

Associate Professor Huynh Cong Phap from the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology - UD stated that the university's training programs are designed according to international standards and quickly updated with new technologies. The focus is on balancing academic foundations with practical skills and applied research. Students gain early access to core technologies, real-world data, and practical business problems in key areas such as integrated circuit design, artificial intelligence, digital economy, and digital finance.
Based on linking training with the domestic and international business and research ecosystem, the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology has established a center and space for in-depth training and research, closely connected with businesses, creating a learning environment linked to internships and practical experience.
The school places special emphasis on developing students' comprehensive capabilities, from foreign languages and digital skills to global thinking and professional ethics. This is a crucial foundation for the school to train human resources who possess both professional expertise and practical experience, meeting the requirements of integration and development needs in the new context.
"This approach not only meets the human resource needs of Da Nang and the region, but also contributes to preparing a workforce capable of integrating and participating in the domestic and international labor markets, serving the goal of sustainable development in the new phase," Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Cong Phap affirmed.
