Enhancing opportunities to experience international cultures and languages at UD's member universities

In the early days of 2026, a number of delegations of lecturers and students from international universities visited member universities of the University of Danang (UD) for exchange activities and to experience Vietnamese culture and language.

On January 8, 2026, the University of Danang - University of Economics (UD-DUE) welcomed a delegation of lecturers and students from The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), USA.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mengge Li (UTEP), the visit was part of the cooperation program between DUE and UTEP, aiming to provide students with opportunities to engage in a multicultural educational environment while expanding their understanding of Viet Nam’s socio-economic context.

Following the opening session, the UTEP delegation took part in a series of welcoming and orientation activities, including an introduction to Vietnam and Danang City, cultural exchanges with DUE students, a campus tour, and a hands-on workshop on making traditional folk toys - Tò he.

In the following days, the UTEP delegation joined an experiential learning itinerary featuring: exploring Da Nang’s attractions; visiting the My Son World Heritage Site to learn about Cham culture; agricultural experiences at Tra Que Vegetable Village, combined with a visit to Hoi An Ancient Town and regional culinary experiences; engaging with traditional craft villages to learn mat weaving, rice paper making, and rice wine production, along with community-based activities with a local host family; meeting and exchanging with business representatives in Da Nang to gain insights into the local production, business, and export environment; and discovering Co Tu ethnic culture through community interactions, traditional performances, and local cuisine.

From January 5 to 30, 2026, a student delegation from Udon Thani Rajabhat University (UDRU), Thailand participated in an internship, exchange, and cultural immersion program at the University of Danang – University of Science and Education (UD-UED).

During the program, students from UDRU will study Vietnamese and teach Thai to Vietnamese students; take part in cultural exchange activities and Vietnamese language classes for international students; observe classes at the Faculty of Primary and Preschool Education; visit high schools in Da Nang; experience Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year) through traditional foods and folk games; and explore historical sites and tourist attractions in Da Nang together with UED students and international friends.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Vice Rector of UD-UED, the University always values international cooperation and creates favorable conditions to ensure effective implementation of international partnership activities. He also expressed confidence that the internship and exchange period at UED would offer Thai students meaningful experiences, contributing to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two universities and the two countries.
