International students of UD participate in the “Walk for Peace” Program organized by the Da Nang Peace Committee

On the morning of April 7, 2026, more than 320 international students from the University of Danang (UD), representing member universities including University of Economics, University of Science and Education and University of Foreign Language Studies, joined the “Walk for Peace 2026” program.

The event was organized by the Da Nang Peace Committee in coordination with several agencies, including the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang, the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations, the People’s Committee of Ngu Hanh Son Ward, and the Organizing Committee of the Quan The Am Festival 2026. The program was held under the theme “Steps for Peace.”
Distinguished guests attending the program included Mr. Uong Chu Luu, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Vietnam Peace Committee; Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang and Chairman of the Da Nang Peace Committee; Mr. Doan Ngoc Hung Anh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Council; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee.

Representing the University of Danang were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan, Vice President of UD, along with representatives from functional departments in charge of Student Affairs, Corporate Relations and Communications, Science and International Cooperation. A total of 321 international students from UD also took part in the event, coming from various countries including Laos, China, Japan, South Korea, the United States, and France.
According to the organizing committee, the “Steps for Peace” walking program aims to spread messages of peace while promoting solidarity and mutual understanding among peoples and nations.
Through the proactive coordination and dedicated support of student affairs offices across UD’s member universities, international students were well-informed and actively engaged in the program. Their participation left a positive impression, highlighting the dynamism, openness, and community engagement of UD’s international student community.

The walking route covered approximately 1,800 meters, starting from the main stage on Su Van Hanh Street, passing through Le Van Hien and Pham Huu Nhat streets before returning to the starting point. The event gathered a wide range of participants, including delegates, officials, staff members, and international students from various institutions and organizations.

Each step taken together helped spread a message of peace and expressed the shared aspiration for a world where people live in safety, solidarity, and compassion for a more progressive and humane future, as shared by representatives of the international students.
