Leaders of the University of Danang accompanied with the senior delegation of Ministry of Education and Training to pay a courtesy visit to the United States

 

Recently, under the framework of the working visit to the United States of the senior delegation of Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) led by Minister Nguyen Kim Son, leaders of the University of Danang (UD) co-participated in several related activities to foster the educational cooperation with U.S. universities, institutes and organizations. On this occasion, UD signed a cooperation agreement with Andrews University at the Educational Testing Service (ETS).

With the presence of MOET’s leaders of the two Governments, senior representatives of UD and Andrews University signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement in the fields of training, scientific research and international cooperation.

Previously, on September 21st, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of UD also attended the Vietnam-US Educational Collaboration Forum with the participation of more than 150 delegates who are educational leaders, managers, representatives of higher education institutions and enterprises at ETS, New Jersey, U.S.

Speaking at the Forum, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son shared that UD always attached a special importance to develop the cooperation relationship with international partners, especially, the U.S partners known as  the advanced and leading education in the world.

Up to now, UD has cooperated with more than 30 U.S universities and enterprises including: University of Washington (Advanced program in Digital System); Portland State University (Advanced program in Embedded System); George Mason University (transfer programs in Business, Finance, Business Administration, Computer Sciences); University of Towson (Joint program in Business Administration); The Catholic University of American (2+2 training programs); University of Illinois (2+2 training programs in Business Administration, Computer Sciences); Intel Viet Nam (the establishment of Intel laboratory for students training program); Arizona State University and USAID ( USAID COMET project, HEEAP project, BUILD-IT project, the establishment of Maker Innovation Space at UD); Microsoft (the establishment of Microsoft at UD); Fulbright (The Fulbright English Teaching Assistant at UD’s member universities and affiliated units); City University of Seattle State; University of New York, Oswego; California State University San Bernardino and Farmingdale State College (comprehensive cooperation);

In addition, UD also has participated in a lot of international projects with the U.S partners such as PHER; Project on Construction of technical infrastructure and urgent works for UD in Hoa Quy - Dien Ngoc with World Bank loan; HEEAP Project; BUILD-IT Program; USAID-LMI COMET…which have brought a lot of outstanding benefits and great opportunities for UD’s lecturers and students

On this occasion, Vice President Le Quang Son also expressed his desire that UD could continue receiving the active support, advice and experience from the U.S prestigious experts with the aim of helping Vietnamese universities to innovate the educational governance, improve training quality and scientific research to reach the international standards. The U.S model of teaching and learning excellence, and research excellence are best practices  for UD to apply under the practical situation of Vietnam higher education reform and development.

Within the framework of this trip, the leaders of UD worked and discussed with the University of Tulsa, Niagara University, ETS and Intel Corporation. In addition, the UD leaders also attended and witnessed the MoU signing ceremony between the MOET and ETS, thereby promoting the cooperation relationship in strengthening the capacity and quality of educational assurance.
