Leaders of the University of Danang received Counsellor for Education and Research, Australian Embassy in Vietnam

On June 16, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of The University of Danang (UD) chaired the meeting and worked with Ms. Jen Bahen - Education and Research Counsellor of the Australian Embassy in Vietnam.

Also attending were Ms. Tran Le Ha - Deputy Director of Education and Research; Representatives of leaders of relevant Departments of UD (Academic Affairs, Science Technology and Environment, International Cooperation, Student Affairs) and representatives of leaders of the Department of Science and International Cooperation of UD’s universities members, such as: The University of Danang – University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT), The University of Danang – University of Economics (UD-DUE), The University of Danang – University of Foreign Language Studies (UD-UFLS) and The University of Danang – VNUK Institute for Research and Executive Education (UD-VNUK).

At the meeting, the Vice President of UD Le Quang Son respectfully welcomed the Counsellor and the Australian Embassy delegation to visit and work with UD.

The Vice President of UD Le Quang Son introduced to the delegation the overview and highlights of UD as a regional and key national university including 06 member universities and affiliated units.

With its tradition, team potential and facilities, UD has a training scale of more than 55,000 students/trainees and international students/interns among the top universities in Vietnam. In its development strategy, UD always attaches importance to international cooperation, including many collaborative activities with prestigious Australian universities, agencies and businesses.

The representative of UD's leadership expressed his wish to receive the attention and support from the Australian Embassy to help act as a connection to promote cooperation with the prestigious partners, focusing on the contents that the parties have needs and strengths such as: Exchange of experts, lecturers, students, and exchange of academics; connecting transnational education; cooperation in human resource development, including policies and scholarships; creating opportunities for officials, lecturers and students of universities to study, research and exchange languages and cultures; coordinating to organize international scientific events and conferences.

Talking with UD leaders, Ms. Jen Bahen - Education and Research Counsellor of the Australian Embassy in Vietnam respectfully thanked UD leaders for giving the delegation a respectful welcome.

Expressing her joy at visiting UD, the Counsellor shared her good feelings about the country and people of Vietnam, especially when she visited UD-DUT a few years ago and was very impressed by UD-DUT in particular and UD in general.

The Australian Embassy highly appreciated UD's international cooperation activities with Australian universities and shared their desire to exchange and explore cooperation opportunities to connect UD with Australian partners, especially in programs such as: Summer student exchange; Women in STEM Program (female lecturers with STEM education in Science, Engineering and Technology combined with Mathematics); Technological innovation; Research cooperation and the process of internationalization of higher education, etc.

In an atmosphere of understanding and trust, the Australian Embassy acknowledged the proposals and cooperation orientations shared by UD leaders; at the same time, expressing hope that the two sides will continue to exchange and research to concretize and implement appropriate contents, bringing mutual benefits.
