On the morning of July 1, 2022, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) chaired the meeting and worked with Prof. Boualem Aliouat - President of the Council of Institute of Technology (Institut Universitaire de Technologie - IUT) - Côte d'Azur University (Université Côte d'Azur - UCA), France.

Also attending were Prof.Dr.Sc. Bui Van Ga - Former Deputy Minister of Education and Training, former President of UD; Prof.Dr.Sc. Le Thanh Nhan - Dean of Danang International Institute of Technology (UD-DNIIT) and representative leaders of the Department of International Cooperation, UD.

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of UD warmly welcomed Prof. Boualem Aliouat visited and worked with UD. Vice President of UD Le Quang Son introduced the overview and highlights of UD as a national key regional university, multi-disciplinary and multi-field with 06 member universities of UD and its institutes, faculties, branches and centers.

UD always attaches importance to and fosters cooperative relationships with domestic and foreign partners, especially traditional partners which are universities, research institutes, scientific and educational organizations of the French Republic, including UCA and IUT.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son shared some information related to the UD’s Urban Area Project in Hoa Quy-Dien Ngoc, which is invested by the Vietnamese Government from medium-term capital and Official Development Assistance (ODA) to develop UD to become one of the top three prestigious scientific research and training centers in the country.

The urban area of UD is modernly planned and designed, including the high-tech zone "Technopole", which focuses on training, scientific research and technology transfer, similar to the model of IUT, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son said.

Prof. Boualem Aliouat - Chairman of IUT Council wishes to cooperate with units of UD

Talking with the leaders of UD, Prof. Boualem Aliouat expressed his joy and respectfully thanked the leaders of UD for taking the time to warmly welcome him. The visit followed the event that the leaders of UCA and UD had just signed a cooperation agreement to elevate the partnership between the two universities by Prof. Boualem Aliouat as Chairman of the IUT Council, which will be an opportunity to promote cooperation, especially in the field of science and technology that the two sides have needs and potentials.

With strengths in the fields of engineering and technology, IUT wishes to cooperate with UD, thereby promoting and strengthening cooperation with UD's member universities and institutes such as UD-University of Science and Technology, UD-DNIIT, etc., Prof. Boualem Aliouat shared.

Leaders of UD give souvenirs to the President of the IUT Council

At the meeting, Prof.Dr.Sc. Bui Van Ga discussed and suggested a number of research directions and cooperation between UD’s member universities and its affiliated units with IUT, including the development of international training programs and cooperation research in the fields of science and technology, catching up with the trend of Revolution 4.0 and meeting the needs of socio-economic development for localities and regions.

In an atmosphere of trust and understanding, leaders of the two sides noted the suggestions and directions for common cooperation. This will be the premise to continue to develop a long-term and effective cooperation relationship for mutual benefits between UD and IUT - UCA in the coming time.
