On April 12, 2022, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) visited the Consulate General of Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) in Da Nang to address a celebration for the Bunpimay Festival,  traditional New Year of the Laotian people.

Also attending were representative leaders of UD’s Office of Administrative Affairs, Department of International Cooperation and Department of Student Affairs. Mr. Viengxay Phommachanh – Lao Consul General in Da Nang city chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, on behalf of the leaders of UD, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son respectfully sent best wishes to the Consul General and all leaders, staff of the Consulate General of Lao PDR in Da Nang city on the occasion of Bunpimay Festival.

In a warm atmosphere, Consul General Viengxay Phommachanh sincerely thanked the leaders of UD for the close good cooperation, contributing to the training of high-quality human resources for Laos, especially the attention, support all favorable conditions for Laotian students studying at UD's member universities to feel secure in studying and living in the difficult context caused by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Consul General of the Lao PDR in Da Nang shared  UD leaders the cultural features of traditional Bunpimay New Year which have profound and sacred meanings for each Laotian.

On this occasion, Vice President Le Quang Son would like to thank the leaders of the Consulate General of the Lao PDR in Da Nang city for their interest and coordination in proposing procedures so that UD and the University of Danang - University of Science and Education had the honor of being honored by the President of the Lao PDR awarded the Third-class Labor Medal, considering this was an important mark contributing to continuing to cultivate the special friendship between the two countries, including long lasting  cooperation relationship in education between Vietnam and Laos.

Leaders of the two sides expressed their satisfaction and affirmed that they would continue to cooperate in exchanging information, increasing support and creating all favorable conditions to improve the quality of training for Laotian students at UD; UD has always been a prestigious university with a long tradition and experience in training for international students, contributing to the supply of high-quality human resources for localities and businesses in Laos.
