On the morning of May 26, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) had an online meeting with the Director of the Saskatchewan Trade and Investment Office (Canada) in Vietnam Nguyen Hong Ha and commercial attachés in charge of education and health - Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City. Also attending were representatives of the UD’s Department of International Cooperation.

At the meeting, Vice President of UD Le Quang Son cordially welcomed Canada's partners; thanked the representatives of the Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City for working with the UD, thereby understanding the needs, promoting development in the fields where each party has potentials and strengths.

The UD attaches great importance to the good relationships with Canadian universities, organizations and businesses. UD has established and developed close cooperation with many prestigious Canadian universities such as: L'École de Technologie Supérieure, Québec Humber Institute of Technology, University Canada West, World University Service of Canada, Université Du Québec à Trois-Rivières, Royal Roads University, Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary… UD is being invested to develop into a top prestigious university regionally and internationally, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son said.

Discussing with UD leaders, Mr. Nguyen Hong Ha - Director of Saskatchewan Trade and Investment Office in Vietnam said that education cooperation is one of the priority areas of Saskatchewan when establishing a representative office in Vietnam. The province’s universities such as Saskatchewan university is a large, public and traditional university that is in the top 15 universities of Canada and is very interested in developing cooperation with Vietnamese universities, including a prestigious university like the UD.

The commercial attachés of the Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City said that during the past time, despite being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, educational and scientific cooperation activities between Vietnam and Canada still took place regularly and effectively.

Attending the meeting, representatives expressed goodwill and unanimity that will strengthen cooperation between the UD and Canada's universities and partners, especially in Saskatchewan province, according to the directions and proposed contents to meet the development needs, focus on international training; exchange of lecturers and students; build collaborative projects and researches.
