Member universities of The University of Danang meet and give gifts to international students on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2024

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, member universities of the University of Danang (UD) have many activities to meet, visit and give gifts to international students/ interns/ international students who are studying, researching, and having the opportunity to experience Lunar New Year culture imbued with Vietnamese national identity.

On February 3, The University of Danang – University of Science and Education (UD-UED) just held a meeting and gave gifts on the occasion of the New Year to 42 international students who stayed to celebrate the Lunar New Year this year at the university's dormitory, including 31 international students from China, 03 from Laos and 08 from Nigeria.

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Xuan Bach - Vice Rector of the UD-UED sent his best wishes for Lunar New Year to the international students, wishing the students all the experiences and happy moments of celebrating the traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year, looking forward to the new year with new joys.

Chinese students receiving Tet gifts were more eager to experience Vietnamese culture

 

According to MSc. Huynh Bong - Chairman of the University's Trade Union, Deputy Head of the Department of Student Affairs said that the university is always closely involved, especially the Dormitory Management Board and relevant units always accompany, support and dedicate to creating the most favorable conditions so that international students can rest assured and celebrate a happy Lunar New Year.

“This is the first time we have celebrated Lunar New Year away from home, although we are away from our homeland it is also an opportunity for each student like me to be more excited and have the opportunity to experience the traditional customs and culture of Vietnam, which is also the Lunar New Year of Oriental culture. The care of the lecturers is an encouragement and warm sharing," Chinese senior student Thach Khanh Ky shared.

On February 1, The University of Danang - University of Foreign Language Studies (UD-UFLS) organized a meeting and gave gifts to international students and students from other provinces staying to celebrate Lunar New Year. Besides the small but practical and meaningful gifts from the university (worth 300,000 VND/student), students also received gifts from the faculties.

According to Dr. Nguyen Huu Binh - Vice Rector of UD-UFLS, this is an annual activity together with units, lecturers and staff always closely care about, visit, and grasp the aspirations, learning and living situation of international students, especially students in difficult circumstances, to accompany, share and support.

Laotian Student Malaphet Chanhva (class 20SPA01) shared that international students would like to thank the lecturers, the university and the faculties for bringing joy with meaningful Lunar New Year gifts; being able to study, live and experience the holiday is truly a happiness for international students to be more confident on the journey of acquiring knowledge under UD-UFLS.

Before that, on the morning of January 31, The University of Danang – University of Economics (UD-DUE) also visited, wished a Happy Lunar New Year and gave gifts to international students and students staying at UD-DUE’s dormitory during the Lunar New Year. Representative of UD-DUE and Department of Student Affairs - Head of Department MSc. Tran Quoc Hung gave to the international students and students (500,000 VND/student) and sent his Lunar New Year wishes of "peace and prosperity" to their family, relatives and each student to have a happy Lunar New Year.
