On February 27, 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc - Chairman of the Trade Union of The University of Danang (UD) chaired a reception and working session with Ms. Erin Wight, Director of MacEwan International, MacEwan University (Canada).

Also attending were representatives from UD’s relevant units, including Department of Academic Affairs and Educational Quality Assurance, Department of Science and International Cooperation, and Center for Continuing Education.

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc warmly welcomed Ms. Erin Wight’s visit to UD at the beginning of the Lunar New Year, noting that the visit contributes to strengthening and expanding the cooperation agreement signed between UD and MacEwan University in May 2025.

Ms. Erin Wight expressed her pleasure at visiting and working with UD. During the session, the two sides discussed the implementation plan for the student exchange program under the signed agreement, with a particular focus on the SEED-2 Scholarship for the 2026- 2027 period. Accordingly, nominated students are required to complete their application dossiers in accordance with regulations and submit them to MacEwan International by the specified deadline for consolidation and submission to EduCanada for review.

The program is considered a practical opportunity that enables UD students to study and experience an international academic environment in Canada with financial support from the Government of Canada.

Under the agreement, each academic year the two institutions may exchange up to two students through flexible options (two students for one semester or one student for one academic year). MacEwan International also provided detailed guidance on the nomination process, required application documents, and coordination mechanisms between the two institutions to ensure the selection timeline and submission progress.

On this occasion, Ms. Erin Wight also met with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh - Vice Rector of UD-University of Economics to further discuss the student exchange program, expand research collaboration, and strengthen academic connections.

The working session contributed to deepening the partnership between UD and MacEwan University, while opening prospects for joint participation in major international conferences that UD plans to host in July this year. This is regarded as an important step toward enhancing international standing and creating more learning and research opportunities for faculty members and students of both institutions.
