From November 5-7, 2024, the University of Danang – University of Foreign Language Studies (UD-UFLS) – one of the member universities of UD organized the annual International Conference SEAIR - 2024 with the theme "Education Creativity and Sustainability in the Digital Era”. This event was under the framework of the development goal of UD as well as the purpose of Digital Move project which has been deployed at UD.

The event was coordinated and supported by Southeast Asian Association for Institutional Research (SEAIR).

Destination of academic events, international language, and cultural exchange

The opening session was attended by Prof. Dr. Florecilla Cortes Cinches - Chairman of SEAIR Executive Board, Prof. Dr. Tajularipin Sulaiman - Vice Chairman of SEAIR Executive Board, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krisda Tanchaisak - Head of the Secretariat of the SEAIR Executive Board; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of UD; representative of the Fulbright Vietnam Program and English Language Office, the US Embassy in Hanoi; Attaché for Culture, Information and Education, the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.

The conference attracted more than 100 scientists, experts, lecturers/researchers in fields related to education from many countries (United States, Japan, Korea, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Rwanda...); scientists who were former Deputy Secretary General of the National Assembly and former Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office; leaders of domestic and international universities.

UD-UFLS Rector highlighted the significance of SEAIR - 2024 not only as an academic forum, connecting a network of experts in various fields to develop higher education in general, training and research on language and culture in particular but also practically celebrate the 30^th anniversary of the UD’s establishment, aiming to celebrate the 40^th anniversary of the establishment of UD-UFLS.

This is the core to shaping the future of higher education institutions, including the role of promoting creative and critical thinking and being ready to solve challenges for sustainable development. Therefore, the theme of the Conference is very important for educators, policymakers, and businesses, linking the educational mission with future responsibilities.

The conference organized thematic sessions and discussions, thereby creating opportunities for delegates to exchange and share ideas, and research results, proposing solutions, and directions, and contributing to the topic of the conference. SEAIR – 2024 focused on practical content such as Creative and sustainable education and cultural dimensions; Empowering innovative educational technologies and pedagogies; Ensuring sustainable education quality; New dimensions in language and humanities education; Educational governance and sustainable internationalization.

Promote innovative education and sustainability in the digital era

According to the representative of the Organizing Committee, SEAIR - 2024 received more than 150 abstracts, and 90 articles from nearly 300 authors, including 06 direct reports and 70 in-depth reports.

With the proactive role of hosting the event, UD-UFLS not only contributes to developing modern thinking and approaches to develop education in the 4.0 era but also clearly and vividly demonstrates its prestige and leading position of UD-UFLS in the system of universities providing training in the field of international languages ​​and culture.
