Students of the University of Danang received scholarships from the Keidanren Economic Federation and the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) in 2024

On December 13, 2024, the University of Danang (UD) in collaboration with the Keidanren Economic Federation (Keidanren) and the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (JCCI) held the Scholarship Award Ceremony in 2024 for 20 students of the UD (7 million VND/student) with a total amount of 140 million VND.
Among the 20 students of UD receiving Keidanren & JCCI scholarships in 2024: University of Science and Technology, University of Economics, University of Science and Education, and University of Foreign Language Studies each has 3 students; University of Technology and Education, Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, and School of Medicine and Pharmacy each has 2 students; VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education and the UD campus in Kontum each has 1 student.
There was the participation of Mr. Shimonishi Kiyoshi - Deputy Consul General of Japan in Danang; Mr. Mizushima Kozo - Member of the Japan - Vietnam Economic Committee, General Director of Sojitz Vietnam Company, Representative of the Keidanren Economic Federation; Mr. Shigei Kentaro - Head of the JCCI Committee for Social Contribution and Human Resources Development, Country Director and General Director of Hanoi Branch - Mitsui Sumitomo Banking Corporation; Mr. Ohkawa Kenji – Joint General Director, Mitsui Sumitomo Banking Corporation; Mr. Shioya Ryo - Deputy General Director of Sojitz Vietnam Company; Mr. Hirayama Keiji - Chairman of JCCI Danang, General Director of Hasegawa Vietnam Company; Mr. Ishikawa Yoshitaka - General Secretary of JCCI Danang, General Director of Les Gants Vietnam Company.

Overview of the meeting.
On the side of UD, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Bac – Vice President; leader representatives of relevant units (Department of Science and International Cooperation, Department of Student Affairs, Japan Center); leader representatives of relevant offices of member universities/affiliated units.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Bac sincerely thanked the leaders of Keidanren & JCCI and partners for their attention and significant scholarships to UD students over the past years; congratulated the students who were honored to receive the 2024 Keidanren & JCCI Scholarship.
This is the 24th consecutive time that UD students have received this prestigious and valuable Scholarship. The long-term and effective support, cooperation and connection of Japanese organizations and enterprises is a source of encouragement for the education, training and human resource development of UD.
The UD’s leader said that as a key regional multi-disciplinary university, the UD has 7 member universities/school and affiliated training units with the strategy and orientation to develop into a national university, a leading center for training high-quality human resources in the Central Highlands and the whole country.
To achieve this strategic goal, the UD always attaches great importance to constantly improving the quality of training, scientific research and international cooperation, cooperation with enterprises, including Japanese agencies, organizations and enterprises that are traditional, prestigious and close partners.

Vice President Le Thanh Bac highly appreciated and expressed his impression and respect for the goodwill of Keidanren & JCCI as well as the Japanese business community in continuously awarding scholarships to UD students. The students will have more practical support, motivation to strive to achieve better results in studying, training, contributing to the development of themselves, the university and the community.
Congratulating the students who received the scholarship, Mr. Mizushima Kozo - member of the Japan - Vietnam Economic Committee, General Director of Sojitz Vietnam Company, Representative of the Keidanren Economic Federation, said that following the event last year celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, up to now, the two countries have tightened exchanges in many fields, including education. This is an opportunity to promote the training of high-quality human resources, especially in the fields of high technology, green transformation, digital transformation as well as economy, culture and education. Over the past 20 years, Keidanren & JCCI have granted scholarships to about 2,000 Vietnamese students, including a large number of students from the UD.
