On the morning of May 26^th, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the University of Danang (UD) welcomed and worked with Honorary Doctor Erich Johann Lejeune, Chairman of Heart for Heart Foundation, Federal Republic of Germany.

Attending the meeting, there were also senior representatives of International Cooperation Department, UD-School of Medicine and Pharmacy (UD-SMP) and UD-VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (UD-VNUK).

At the meeting, President Nguyen Ngoc Vu warmly welcomed Honorary Professor Erich Johann Lejeune to UD after a long hiatus due to Covid-19 pandemic.

UD’s President expressed his desires that Honorary Professor Erich Johann Lejeune would continue to be a bridge to connect UD with various international professors and scientists to participate in teaching and scientific research activities; promote the lecturers and students exchange programs, thereby contributing to strengthen the training and capacity building for staff; supporting equipment, implementing joint projects between UD in general, UD’s affiliated units in particular (UD-SMP, UD-Medical Center  and UD-VNUK) with German institutions and universities.

Honorary Professor Erich Johann Lejeune shared that in the past time, in the context of being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, he still regularly worked with partners and international organizations in the role as a UD’s ambassador. He also proposed ideas and expressed his desire to continue supporting, connecting and developing cooperation relationship among UD and universities, organizations and businesses in Germany and all over the world, especially in the fields of medicine, society, and human health care.

As a successful businessman with many contributions to the social community and volunteer activities in Vietnam as well as in Da Nang city, Honorary Professor Erich Johann Lejeune shared that he always tried to constantly cultivate the cooperation relationships among organizations and individuals with common interests in order to promote the potentials and strengths of each side, thereby contributing to the development of society.

After the meeting Honorary Professor Erich Johann Lejeune also had a small talk on motivation and entrepreneurship with students from UD-SMP and UD-VNUK.
