The President of the University of Danang welcomed and worked with the Chairman of "Heart for Heart-Foundation for Life”, Germany

 

On the morning of March 8, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the University of Danang (UD) had a meeting with Honorary Professor Erich Lejeune - Chairman of the "Heart for Heart-Foundation for Life” (Heart for Heart), Federal Republic of Germany.

Attending the meeting were also Honorary Doctor Irene Lejeune - Co-Chairman of the Heart for Heart; Dr. Hans-Frieder Krauss-Vice President; Ms. Beate Krauss-Counselor and Mr. Anton Winkler-Former Prosecutor and Senior Judge; Dr. Med. Le Viet Nho - Dean of UD-School of Medicine and Pharmacy, (UD-SMP), representative of UD-Department of Science and International Cooperation and UD-Medical Center.

At the meeting, President Nguyen Ngoc Vu expressed his pleasure when meeting Honorary Professor Erich Lejeune and Honorary Doctor Irene Lejeune again. As for him, Honorary Professor Erich Lejeune and Honorary Doctor Irene Lejeune were always close members of UD.

UD President gave special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Lejeune for always giving attention and affection to UD and providing valuable support to UD-SMP as well in the career of human resources training to contribute to the care of community health. "Compared to the two ends of the country, the Central area still has many difficulties, so your companionship and support  is a great significance," shared President Nguyen Ngoc Vu.

With sincere feelings, Honorary Professor Erich Lejeune emotionally expressed his pleasure when he had a chance to return and work with UD, a place that he personally always considered as his second home.

With a close relationship with many hospitals in Da Nang City, the Chairman of the "Heart for Heart" affirmed that he would continue to accompany and support UD, especially UD-SMP in the mission of high-quality human resources training for the health sector to "energize" UD-SMP’s lecturers and students, continuing efforts to teach well and learn well, bringing knowledge and enthusiasm to care and protect health for citizen, especially for children suffering from heart disease.

In an atmosphere of trust and sincerity, the leaders of UD and the "Heart for Heart" shared common concerns and the same view of continuing to strengthen and promote the "triangular" cooperative relationship between authorities, universities, and hospitals to bring many values, positive results, humane and practical meaning to serve the community.

Previously, on the morning of March 7, leaders of the "Heart for Heart" visited UD-SMP at the University of Danang Urban Area (Hoa Quy). Mr. and Mrs. Lejeune visited the pre-clinical practice rooms, reading spaces, and libraries, and also interacted and shared with UD-SMP’s staff, lecturers, and students on the topic "Dynamic in Medicine" at the "Lejeune Room".
 

The support, and companionship of the

"Heart for Heart", Germany added more motivation for UD-SMP’s lecturers and students in training medical human resources for the community

It was expected that on this visit, Honorary Professor Erich Lejeune would support UD-SMP with additional funding to enhance learning tools and library materials for students.
