The University of Da Nang signs a cooperation agreement with Da Nang Specific Economic Zones Authority

27/02/2026

On February 27th, 2026, The University of Da Nang (UD) signed a cooperation agreement with Da Nang Specific Economic Zones Authority, and various businesses to implement the "Co-op Learning by Doing" program for students: Foxlink Electronics Da Nang, East Sea Technology Engineering Electrical Automation, Trung Nam Electronics Manufacturing Services, ICT Vina, Kha Tam, Thanh Quan, Jone Tech and Viettel Logistics Services.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of UD, Strengthening the linkage and cooperation among the "Three Stakeholders" (State - University - Businesses) is essential and urgent for training and developing high-quality human resources, contributing to the overall development of the country, Da Nang city, as well as other localities, businesses, and universities.

Introducing the UD to partners as one of the three leading centers for training, scientific research, and innovation in the country, President of UD stated that the university currently has over 65,000 students across 6 member universities and 3 affiliated training units; the percentage of lecturers with doctoral degrees or higher is high.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu highlighted UD’s recent progress and its designation by the Central Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation as one of four universities prioritized for investment to serve as models for national higher education (Conclusion Notice No. 45).

This is both a great opportunity and a golden key for the development of UD, and a great responsibility requiring great effort and high determination from UD.

It also requires continued support, cooperation, and collaboration with ministries, central agencies, localities, and businesses, including DSEZA, as well as domestic and international business partners.

According to Mr. Vu Quang Hung, Head of DSEZA, building on the results of cooperation between DSEZA and UD in the past period, the signing of this agreement to further enhance cooperation is of significant importance and will deepen the relationship.

The DSEZA leadership is committed to accompanying UD and connecting and supporting the establishment of science and technology enterprises, university-based businesses (spin-offs), and startups in high-tech fields, with a focus on forming these businesses from the research results of scientists and students of UD, with the support of businesses.

Students will have more job opportunities and better experiences. Businesses will gain more knowledge and new technologies. Research topics will be applied in practice. That is the value of today's collaborative partnership.

According to the signed agreement, UD and DSEZA will cooperate comprehensively in four key areas: training and developing high-quality human resources; scientific research and development; innovation, business incubation, and entrepreneurship; along with policy consulting and creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem.

This collaboration aims to promote the development of strategic and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, robotics, automation, new materials, renewable energy, fintech, and logistics. Simultaneously, the parties will enhance applied research, knowledge and technology transfer, product commercialization, and startup support, with the goal of building Da Nang into a leading innovation and high-tech hub in the region and the country.

On this occasion, UD signed cooperation agreements with businesses in DSEZA. Through this collaboration, the parties will implement the "Co-op Learning-by-Work Program" and "Business Semester" for students of the University of Da Nang.

These programs aim to provide students with opportunities to access a real-world work environment, hone their expertise, skills, and professional attitude, thereby ensuring they "learn by doing and build a solid career" and better meet the demands of both domestic and international labor markets.
