On January 13, 2025, at the University of Danang (UD)’s Hall, key officials of the UD and its member universities, affiliated units virtually attended the National Conference on Breakthroughs in Science, Technology, Innovation and National Digital Transformation.

The UD's delegates virtually joined the meeting.

At the main meeting point held at Dien Hong Hall, Hanoi capital, senior leaders of the Party, State and Government chaired and attended the Conference.

This is an important Conference to thoroughly grasp and implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated 22nd December, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, raising awareness, creating drastic and effective changes in organization and implementation, contributing to the development of the country in the era of national development.

At the Conference, delegates heard reports on the situation and results of implementing the Party and State's policies and guidelines on science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation; and thoroughly grasped the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW.

According to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo is a breakthrough in developing science and technology, innovation and digital transformation. This is a document of strategic significance, marking an important turning point for the country in these areas.

The Prime Minister said that science and technology, innovation and digital transformation play a key role and are strong driving forces for Vietnam to develop rapidly and sustainably. The resolution helps Vietnam catch up with developed countries, avoid the risk of economic lag, and gradually surpass and stand shoulder to shoulder with technological powers.

The Government identified 7 main groups of tasks in the Action Program to implement the Resolution, first of all raising awareness, making breakthroughs in innovation thoughts, determining strong political determination, resolutely leading and directing, creating new momentum in the whole society in developing science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.

Speaking at the Conference, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that science and technology is the golden key to prosperous development; requiring focusing on key investments to develop research organizations, having specific plans to build high-quality human resources, especially science and technology talents, implementing breakthrough solutions to attract leading technology corporations and science and technology talents abroad and Vietnamese people abroad to work.

As a key regional multi-disciplinary university as well as a prestigious training, scientific research, technology application - transfer center, with a leading position in the national university education system, the UD always identifies the pivotal role of science and technology along with training as a solid foundation for sustainable development, contributing high-quality human resources to the country.

Thoroughly grasping and implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW in the entire political system, especially among the staff, lecturers/researchers, scientists, students in the entire UD is to actively contribute to promoting the role of intellectuals to meet the requirements and tasks of national development, building and developing UD according to the strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2045, striving to realize the goal of becoming a National University in the spirit of Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW and Conclusion No. 79-KL/TW of the Politburo.
