With a tradition of 30 years of building and development (1994-2024), inheriting 50 years of training from member universities, The University of Danang (UD) has trained and provided tens of thousands of officials, leaders, managers, experts, lecturers and scientists in many fields. Many alumni/ students take on important responsibilities in agencies, organizations, universities/ schools and businesses, actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the Central Highlands region and the whole country.

In 2023, UD has achieved many outstanding and comprehensive results, continuing to affirm its prestige, top quality and international position. The policy of developing UD into a National University according to Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW of the Politburo is institutionalized in the Resolutions and Action Programs of the Government, Da Nang city planning, etc. This is an important political and legal basis for UD to strive to realize its great aspiration.

UD has signed and implemented a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (previously signed cooperation with Vietnam National University in Hanoi); Co-founded and joined the Alliance of pioneering universities to train high-quality human resources to serve the development of the Semiconductor Chip Industry.

The conditions to ensure training quality are constantly being focused and improved, demonstrated by the University of Science and Technology completed international accreditation (HCERES Standards) cycle 2, the University of Technology and Education was recognized to meet the national quality standards cycle 1; Added 47 accredited training programs meeting domestic and foreign standards (nearly 2 times more than the previous year).

As a "trusted scientific destination" associated with ministries, branches, central agencies, localities and businesses, UD constantly promotes its role as an intellectual team, actively participates in summarizing, proposing resolutions, developing and criticizing policies; implemented more than 200 science and technology projects and published more than 500 articles in prestigious WoS/Scopus journals.

The international reputation of UD is increasingly enhanced with many outstanding events such as: Hosting a series of seminars with the Ulysseus European University Alliance, bringing together nearly 100 scientists and experts, becoming the first non-European member of Ulysseus; welcoming and working with the General Director of the Francophone University Organization (AUF), the new Ambassador of the European Union; invited Prof. Gerard't Hooft, Nobel Prize in Physics, to visit and have the scientific exchanges with staff, lecturers and students.

Entering the new year 2024 with many new opportunities, new positions and great aspirations, with the attention and support of the Central Government, the Ministry of Education and Training, Da Nang city and other ministries, branches and localities, businesses and social communities, UD continues to make great efforts and high determination, strive to successfully implement the UD Urban Area Construction Project and the PHER Project, contribute to the successful implementation of the Development Strategy to 2030, Vision to 2045 and Project to develop UD into a National University, worthy of being one of the three leading scientific training and research centers in Vietnam with its prestige and high position in the region and the world.
