The University of Danang deploys themes and 14 key tasks/solutions for the 2024-2025 academic year

On 29th August, 2024, the University of Danang’s President signed and issued the official dispatch No. 3621/ĐHĐN-VP on the implementation of key tasks and solutions for the 2024-2025 academic year, determining to successfully carry out the tasks of the new academic year with the theme: “Continuing to innovate university governance associated with digital transformation and international integration for the goal of sustainable development”.

(1) Well prepare for the new school year (especially in terms of facilities, teaching staff, reasonable study plan); organize a thoughtful and friendly reception for new students, creating a good impression of the member universities and the UD from the beginning.

Promote the education of politics, ideology, law, national defense and security, physical activity and school health. Implement the solutions to accompany, support students in training, especially the students with difficult situation. Follow the students’ feedbacks to timely manage, support students, thereby building a safe, healthy learning environment.

(2) Operate activities economically, especially using electricity safely, efficiently, economically, at the same time follow the regulations on preventing fires and exlosions. Ready for solutions to fight against natural disasters and epidemics to ensure safety and good quality in  teaching and training w.

(3) Well prepare for the 30th anniversary of establishment of the UD, focusing on the main ceremony in November; the workshop on connecting in training high quality human resource for provinces of North Central region and Coastal Central region in accordance with the Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW dated 3/11/2022 of the Politburo; the international conference on “Sustainable university development: Opportunities and Challenges”.

(4) Complete the development strategy in accordance with the practical situation; well arrange the organizational structure, strengthen multi-level management in accordance with autonomous university governance. Innovation of university governance should bring practical results and efficiency, considering this as an evaluation criteria in all activities.

Mobilize all resources to improve university governance, with the focus on improving the efficiency of University Council and Member university Council; revise to complete internal regulations on the basis of updating current regulations and practice of the units/the UD to implement the management of the UD/units correctly, efficiently; carry out the accountability, transparency, information publication.

Complete Database Management Information System, promote the conditions to ensure educational quality, complete and enhance internal quality assurance, improve activity indexes of every training unit to meet standards. Promote the serving spirit, especially focus on psychological consultation for learners, manage comprehensively all aspects: education, teaching schedule, admission,...

(7) Complete the 2024 admission, implement the 2025 admission well, especially review admission methods in the new situation, build and carry out admission consultation plan effectively on the basis of close cooperation with high schools.

Well organize events, conferences, workshops to promote the image and prestige of the member universities, affiliated units in particular, the UD in general.

Increase the admission quota properly for some training units to ensure quality and regulations. Improve admission quota for postgraduate and in-service training. Consider to assign the PhD admission to member universities.

(8) Innovate, modernize training programs and methods; encourage interdisciplinary programs, especially in STEM fields to serve high technologies such as ICT, AI, semiconductor, automation, biotechnology, green energy;

Diversify training modes, strongly apply digital technology, especially AI in education.

Proactively open new programs to meet the demand of learners and society.

Promote foreign language-instructed courses, build the pathway to make English as a second language in school.

(9) Diversify international cooperation activities, promote partnerships, implement activities with foreign partners to carry out student exchange, staff exchange; actively look for joint research projects to mobilize resources to promote the UD’s position;

Member units should have policies to attract foreign experts, scientists, overseas Vietnamese experts, international students.

Well manage staff, lecturers, students to go abroad to study, teach, research and exchange.

Enhance communication and international admission to diversify the number of nationalities of foreign students.

(10) Promote scientific research in association with innovation. Build suitable mechanisms, policies to promote scientific publication on prestigious journals in Vietnam and abroad; strengthen research for application, especially encourage scientists to join to solve practical issues of socio-economic development of localities and enterprises.

Build and develop start-up innovation ecosystem for lecturers, learners and relevant stakeholders.

Strengthen scientific ethics in research, research collaboration and publication.

(11) Focus on implementing important projects, especially the ODA project.

Member units proactively implement investment projects effectively and timely.

Urgently submit to authorities the proposal to develop the UD into a national university, continue building School of Medicine and Pharmacy to University of Medicine and Pharmacy, upgrading VNUK Institute for Research and Executive Education to International School and then to International University, considering to establish Center for National Defense, Security and Physical Education on the basis of the current School of National Defense and Security Education and School of Physical Education.

(12) Review the facility procurement plan for 2024 on the basis of current financial resources and practical situation of the unit. Proactively build the plan for 2025 feasibly, economically, prioritizing resources for human development, ensuring salaries for staff members.

Strengthen the financial management at units in accordance with state regulations. Promote educational services, short-term training... to effectively exploit facilities, diversify revenue of the unit.

(13) Strengthen inspection affairs for all aspects of units to detect, solve problems, contributes to building a healthy educational environment and stable operation. Proactively solve the complaint letters, responses, feedbacks of citizens. Implement regular citizen reception as well as the meeting between unit leaders and students, staff members.

(14) Promote communication affairs, university’s brand to foster the UD’s prestige. Proactively carry out internal communication to create the consensus in the UD as well as international communication in association with the community and brand promotion. Cooperate with media organizations to timely provide with correct information. Be actively in resolving communication crisis.
