The University of Danang – Destination of the journey to connect, improve innovation capacity and support national startups

On January 15, 2024, at the University of Danang (UD), the program “Journey to connect, improve innovation capacity and support startups in universities and colleges in 2023” was held.

This is a program co-organized by the UD and the National Innovation Center (NIC) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, with the companionship and support of partners: US Agency for International Development (USAID), Network of Centers for Innovation Startups at Universities/Colleges, BK Holdings and Center for Innovation and Incubation – Foreign Trade University.

Overview of the event.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the UD, welcomed the delegates, lecturers, experts from agencies, organizations, partner businesses and universities, colleges nationwide for attending the event.

The UD’s Vice President Le Quang Son said that with the mission, position and social responsibility of a key regional university, the UD trains and provides high quality human resources with creative thinking, entrepreneurship capacity, humanity and ability to work effectively in professional and internationally integrated environment.

The UD always focuses on improving the quality of training and scientific research, taking science - technology and innovative startups as a “pillar”, demonstrating core values in activities for the goal of sustainable development.

The UD determined and issued the Science and Technology Development Strategy in the overall development strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2045, with the aspiration to become a national university.

The UD’s leader respectfully thanked NIC and its partners for coordinating to organize the meaningful program at the UD, through which the UD has more conditions and opportunities to continuously improve the training quality, scientific research and human resource development.

According to Ms. Tan Anh, Head of NIC’s Human Resources Development Department, the UD is the 3rd destination in this journey, along with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The program aims to connect the journey of experience, spread the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation, share information and knowledge about policies, experience and implementation of “innovation center” model in universities and colleges.

This is also a practical and useful activity, strengthening the capacity of staff, lecturers/experts in innovation activities and fostering the skills and knowledge ecosystem in schools.
