The University of Danang implement key tasks and solutions for the 2023-2024 academic year

Pursuant to the plan of key tasks and solutions for the 2023-2024 school year of the education sector (Decision No. 2457/QĐ-BGDĐT of the Minister of the Ministry of Education and Training dated August 23, 2023); promoting the achieved results and overcoming all difficulties, the University of Danang (UD) issued official dispatch No. 3875/ĐHĐN-VP of the President of the UD dated September 8, 2023 on implementing tasks and solutions for the 2023-2024 academic year, determining to successfully implement the school year’s theme “Emulating for good teaching, good learning, good research, good service for the goal of sustainable development”.

To successfully carry out the school year’s task, create an important premise for implementing the policy of developing the UD into a national university in the spirit of the Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW dated November 3, 2022 of the Politburo, the President of the UD proposes member universities, affiliated units to focus on following key task and solutions:

1. Implementing the UD’s development strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2045, focusing on carrying out the policy of developing the UD into a national university. Urgently implementing the project to establish University of Medicine and Pharmacy under the UD.

2. Focusing on Party building work, considering this a key task to improve the leadership capacity and power of the Party organization. Focusing on building a clean and strong Party organization as the leadership nucleus to successfully carry out the unit’s political tasks.

3. Preparing well for the new school year, especially organizing a thoughtful and friendly welcome for new students, creating a good impression right from the beginning. Focusing on ideological and political education, national defense and security, physical and legal educationfor students through appropriate forms. Deploying solutions to accompany and support students, especially ones with difficult circumstances in studying and training. Promoting Party development work among students.

4. Reviewing and completing the system of internal regulation documents on the basis of updating documents from competent authorities and practical operation of the UD. Continueing to arrange and merge units in the spirit of the Resolution No. 19-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017. Implementing workforce reduction according to the roadmap.

Focusing on developing the number of lecturers with doctoral degrees or higher, at the same time attaching importance to fostering the professional qualifications of administrative staff to meet the assigned task requirements. Implementing the planning and appointment of managing officials to ensure democracy, openness, compliance with regulations.

5. Strengthening teaching and learning management; enhancing the role, position and enthusiasm of lecturers in teaching and research. Proactively opening new training majors to meet social needs. Actively innovating content, curriculum, teaching and learning methods in the spirit of entrepreneurship, closely linking with businesses and creating excitements for learners.

Strengthening connections with high schools through appropriate programs and events to increase high school students’ understanding of the UD and its units, contributing to improving enrollment efficiency.

6. Completing the internal quality assurance system of the UD. Carrying out inspection work according to an appropriate and feasible roadmap, encouraging inspection according to regional and international standards. Implementing synchronous solutions to continue improving the UD’s ranking in domestic and international rankings.

7. Issuing regulations to encourage international publication and focusing on cooperation with ministries, localities in scientific research, technology transfer and innovation, especially coordinating in organizing national conferences, workshops to contribute to socio-economic development of the locality and the country, thereby improving the social position of the UD. Reviewing and effectively implementing the cooperation agreements between the UD and its partners.

8. The head of the UD’s units is responsible for strengthening financial and asset management and implementing investment, procurement and repairs in accordance with current state regulations. Promoting the autonomy of member universities in exploiting legal revenues, saving expenses to increase income for officials and employees, creating motivation for the development of the unit. Actively seeking resources from international partners and businesses to invest in equipments to meet the unit’s teaching and learning needs.

Proactively coordinating with ministries/sectors and localities in proposing to the National Assembly and the Government to prioritize capital allocation from the national budget to focus on investment in the UD’s urban area project at Hoa Quy – Dien Ngoc. Implementing the UD’s project with ODA loan from the World Bank on schedule. This is a very important task, with strategic significance for the development of the UD.

9. Promoting cooperation with businesses, especially large ones, in training, scientific research, scholarship support, and career opportunities for students on the basis of strengthening the alumni network.

10. Enhancing international exchange of lecturers and students, especially in coordination with Vietnam National University – Hanoi, Vietnam National University – HCMC and Hanoi University of Science and Technology in inviting world famous politicians, scientists and businessmen to visit, work and exchange with the UD’s lecturers and students.

11. Strengthening inspection and self-inspection, especially for financial and asset management to detect, correct and promptly handle violations (if any).

12. Continuing to innovate university governance associated with digital transformation. Focusing on organizing thoughtful, practical, professional and effective events. Union organizations, especially the UD’s Trade Union, need to launch emulation campaigns to arouse the spirit of enthusiasm and love for the teaching profession and promote the sense of responsibility, service attitude, pride and dedication.

13. Focusing on communication work to enhance the image and position of the university, especially internal communication so that everyone can know, discuss and participate in.

14. Strengthening fire, explosion and flood prevention. Implementing solutions to ensure security, order and safety of the university.

15. The year 2024 marks the 30-year journey of building and developing the UD. The units are requested to launch extensive emulation movements among all staff and students through practical and effective activities and events, creating achievements to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the UD.
