The University of Danang organized co-creation webinar on Governance Excellence in the framework of Vietnam Partnership for Higher Education Reform Project

On October 1, 2021, the University of Danang (UD) collaborated with partners to organize a co-creation webinar on governance excellence to complete the framework of the Vietnam Higher Education Reform Project (PHER Project).

The webinar was held with the attendance of UD's leaders and partners’ experts
Attending the webinar were Dr. Phan Minh Duc - Chairman of the UD’s Council, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of UD, experts from partners including United States Agency for International Development (USAID), World Bank, Indiana University – the U.S.
UD’s attendees were also representative leaders of member universities, affiliated training units, and relevant departments (Finance- Planning, International Cooperation, Education Quality Assurance).

At the workshop, the Chairman of the UD's Council, Dr. Phan Minh Duc gave a speech affirming the role, importance, and urgency of the PHER project not only for UD and 02 national universities but also to create breakthroughs and pioneer international reach for the national higher education system.

UD’s Vice President – Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son delivered a speech emphasizing the goals, challenges, and expectations of UD, looking forward to receiving the support and companionship of relevant partners in the PHER Project. In that way, the cooperation among UD, the 02 national universities, and partners shall be strengthened for the entire innovation, actively contribute to the process of international integration of Vietnamese higher education, especially in the field of university governance innovation.
On this occasion, the leaders of UD would like to thank the partners and experts from USAID, the World Bank, and Indiana University for continued supporting and sharing of valuable experiences, and affirming the commitment of UD to actively contribute to ensuring the achievement of the project's objectives, quality, and schedule.

Prof. Tran Ngoc Anh - Project Team Leader of Indiana University also shared and presented a proposal for a general and detailed intervention framework of the Program to improve university governance capacity. He emphasized that UD and Indiana University shared the similarities as the national key public and regional universities, from which consultancy and selection of development and innovation experiences in university governance following the development strategy of each university are feasible.

At the workshop, the delegates discussed and clarified the related contents focusing on university governance innovation such as Management of apparatus and operations; Financial management; Human resources management; Quality management ... associated with the requirements and practice of UD as well as its member universities and affiliated training unit, closely following the requirements of Vietnam's higher education innovation and international integration.
As scheduled, the series of webinars will continue on October 6 and 8 to discuss and unify the core contents of management methods and tools as well as propose policies and solutions to improve the efficiency of the UD's university governance contributing to perfecting the PHER Project's Framework.
