The University of Danang - University of Foreign Language Studies organized the national conference on how to improve efficiency of teaching foreign languages in the integration period.

 

 

From October 1st to 2nd, 2021, the University of Danang – University of Foreign Language Studies (UD-UFLS) successfully organized the National conference attracted more than 150 delegates from 25 training institutions and scientific-educational organizations with 130 reports involving most-concerned issues in the term of foreign language teaching, such as how to improve efficiency of teaching foreign languages in Viet Nam and enhance the professional skills for foreign language teachers, and boosting digital transformation in foreign language teaching

At the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc – UD-UFLS’s Rector warmly welcomed the delegates and highly acknowledged the companionship and support of partners that co-organized this online conference in the context of COVID-19.

Rector Tran Huu Phuc emphasized that the meaning and topic of the Conference was topical in the context of integration and globalization, whereby the quality of training and scientific research in general, training in foreign languages and international studies in particular had an active mission to contribute to the innovation and integration of Vietnamese higher education in the world.

UD’s Vice President Le Quang Son highly estimated the Organizing Borad as well as UD-UFLS for their efforts in organizing an outstanding event and expressed his belief that UD-UFLS would continue becoming a prestigious destination to improve the quality of training and scientific research in the fields of Linguistics, Culture and Education in the 4.0 era.

The conference was a forum for academic exchange and research publication

 to innovate and improve

quality of teaching, learning and researching foreign languages

 

Specifically-mentioned were a report about extensive reading method presented by Prof. Dr. John Maclister from the Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand), another one about some problems in teaching students majoring international studies by Prof. Dr. Hoang Khac Nam from University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Ha Noi, and one report about how COVID-19 is reshaping teaching and learning at UD-UFLS by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Chinh from UD-UFLS.
