The University of Danang - University of Technology and Education organized a workshop on communication in the context and development trends of artificial intelligence applications

On June 7, 2024, at the second campus of The University of Danang - University of Technology and Education (UD-UTE) (at the UD Urban Area), UD-UTE organized a Workshop with the theme "University communication in the face of the development trend of artificial intelligence (AI) technology" in 2024, gathering nearly 200 delegates, experts, lecturers from 38 universities, press agencies, media, businesses and partners nationwide.

Attending the event were Dr. Phan Minh Duc - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of The University of Danang Council; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan - Vice President of The University of Danang (UD); Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Cao Tho – Rector of UD-UTE, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Workshop; Dr. Phan Bao An - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of UD-UTE Council; the UD-UTE's Board of Rectors and members of the Organizing Committee; representatives of the leaders of UD’s member universities and training units, UD’ centers, media units, and universities, colleges, institutes/ academies nationwide; press reporters; representatives of UD-UTE’s departments, faculties, affiliated centers and staff, lecturers and students of the UD-UTE.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Cao Tho, Rector of UD-UTE, said that this was an opportunity for delegates to exchange and share scientific and practical content in communication, promoting university performance and enrollment, contributing to the development of universities in the digital age.
UD-UTE welcomes, respectfully thanks and acknowledges the intellectual and dedicated contributions of scientists, experts, lecturers, and communication staff from universities, agencies, and enterprises nationwide at the Workshop, Rector Phan Cao Tho shared.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan - Vice President of UD spoke, highly appreciated the significance of the Workshop as part of a series of events celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment and development of UD (1994 - 2024). The Workshop connected media units of universities, delegates and experts from all over the country to attend, write reports, discuss, and share knowledge and experience in educational communication work.

Following the success of the Workshop "Some communication experiences of universities in the current context" in 2023 initiated and organized by UD-UTE, this year's Workshop was professionally and thoughtfully prepared, demonstrated the stature and acumen of UD-UTE on the path of developing and applying AI technology.

Representatives of the leaders of UD hope and request that the leaders of UD-UTE in particular, and UD’s member universities in general, study and absorb the contributions of experts and scientists, and focus on directing the implementation of a number of key tasks, namely:
(1) Developing a synchronous communication strategy associated with the university's Development Strategy to effectively create and manage images and learning; (2) Making the most of online communication tools and platforms, AI applications to increase its efficiency and digital-media based interaction, and dissemination;

(3) Building a communications team that understands the trend of applying new technology, aiming for professionalism and creativity in communications activities; (4) Promoting the application of digital technology and AI in communications and university administration activities (data management, process automation, students support...), thereby creating a digital environment and providing information and data for communications work.

On this occasion, Vice President of UD Nguyen Manh Toan respectfully sent his congratulations to the team of journalists and media staff on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21); and hope to continue receiving valuable support, attention, assistance, and companionship with the educational and training career of UD-UTE in particular and UD in general.

At the Plenary Session, delegates listened to and discussed 02 thematic reports: (1) "Evaluating university brands on multimedia communication networks through the use of AI technology" (Dr. Ngo Ho Anh Khoi - Nam Can Tho University, and colleagues); (2) "Media Confession - Media ethics and impacts on students" (Dr. Nguyen Thi Quoc Minh, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City, and colleagues).

At the subcommittees, delegates listened to and discussed thematic reports on key contents: (1) AI application in communication; (2) Internal communication; (3) Communication for admission consulting.

Delegates shared a lot of knowledge, experience and useful solutions from practice; proposed ideas, models, methods and communication products that can be applied in the communication work of universities, promoting the application of information technology, digital transformation and AI in education 4.0.

The Workshop selected 47 articles by 89 authors/ author groups, published in the Summary Record as useful reference materials for units, staff, lecturers and students of educational and training institutions.

and applying 4.0 technology to contribute to sustainable development
The success of the Workshop was not only an opportunity to connect leaders, experts, and communication teams of universities and units nationwide, but also clearly demonstrated the pioneering and proactive nature of catching up with the trend of applying new technology of UD-UTE, contributed to enhancing prestige, academic performance and actively contributed to serving the community.
