The University of Danang's member universities actively adapted to the Covid-19 epidemic situation, ensuring the learning quality for students

With the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic in localities and around the world, besides strictly implementing the guiding documents and recommendations of the local government and the health care, the University of Danang’s member universities had several proactive and timely solutions to ensure the learning quality and final exams for students.

The effective using of IT application in online teaching and learning
The University of Danang - University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT) had deployed online teaching-learning method on MS Teams, DUT-LMS systems for theory classes, projects and graduation projects for students.
Thanks to the experience in preparing documents, textbooks and technical infrastructure in information technology, UD-DUT’s lecturers and students quickly stabilized, maintained the learning progress and quality for the final exam and project defense.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Quang Vinh – UD-DUT’s Rector shared that in order to limit student concentration according to the requirements of epidemic prevention, UD-DUT had paused the practical classes, laboratories and internships. In addition, UD-DUT’s lecturers guided students, especially final-year students to complete their graduation projects via online training systems that had operated smoothly and stably…
Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology (FAST) had effectively applied the online Capstone Project for all students.

Dr. Nguyen Le Hoa - Dean of FAST presented that organizing online defense was both time-saving and cost-effective solution in the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control. Instead that Council members and students had to wait for their turn to defend like the traditional way, with an online software application, when the time had been set, Council members and students had just clicked on the provided link to join the Council immediately.
Online defense could facilitate for many councils to take place at the same time, members could not only listen to students defend but also give comments directly to help students and authors easily acquire Councils’ comments...

Many UD’s member universities had actively and flexibly adapted the epidemic condition by adjusting the exam schedule or implementing an online exam for a number of suitable modules to ensure the implementation of the guiding spirit of UD’s Steering Committee for the Covid epidemic Prevention and Control.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy - Vice Rector of UD- University of Economics (UD-UE), UD-UE had temporarily paused the exam (according to the previous schedule, from May 24th onwards, the courses would organize the final exams. It would be expected that until June 14th, if the epidemic was under the control and there would be a new announcement from UD, UD-UE would continue to organize the concentrated exams.

The University of Danang - University of Foreign Language Studies’ (UD-UFLS) students had more opportunities to interact by using online tool application
UD-UFLS had also actively reviewed and planned an appropriate time for final exam, whereby courses that could be taken online would be deployed according to the arranged schedule; courses that were not suitable for the online exam would be adjusted the schedule.

decisively win the pandemic
Previously, UD had promptly issued directing documents (Dispatch No. 1686, 1687/DHDN-HSSV) to not only strictly implement the epidemic prevention and control requirements but also be proactive and adapt to the new situation, promote using IT in teaching and learning, organize online exams and projects defense, ensure the safe environment so that students could return to school when having new announcement.
Leaders of UD’s member universities had also sent messages affirming their determination as well as encouraging staff and students to join hands to overcome challenges and difficulties in the Covid-19 pandemic, successfully complete the task of academic year 2020-2021.
