President of the University of Danang, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu.

Recently, at the 22nd Party Congress of Danang City, the University of Danang (UD)'s President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu has delivered a significant remark on the development directions of the UD in the coming time. We would like to introduce the full text of this remark:

"I agree with the draft Political Report of the Congress which determined one of the key tasks and solutions of the coming term is: 'Continue to coordinate with universities to improve training quality, strengthen international accreditation, develop new training programs to meet the demands of human resources, especially in key areas of the city'.

I think this is one of the decisions that need to be focused on right direction and implementation in order to contribute to improving the competitiveness and attracting investment, as well as creating a new driving force for the Danang's development.

As the regional university located in the city, the UD always determines that the first priority task is to train human resources to serve the local socio - economic development. In fact, through its development stages, the Danang’s priorities in human resources training have been consistent with the trends of workforce development in the world.

At present, following the direction of the Resolution 43, the UD has reshaped its training strategy and programs/majors. In terms of strategic direction, the UD aims to train a new generation of students with creativity, independent thinking, leadership and entrepreneurship, adaptability to the digital age.

In particular, I agree and appreciate the strategic vision when we included in the Party Congress’s Political Report “the proposal to the Party’s Central Committee to consider establishing the Vietnam National University – Danang on the basis of reorganization and upgrade of the UD and a number of universities in the city and neighbouring localities.

The establishment of the Vietnam National University – Danang not only stems from the tradition, strength and solid position of the UD in the country’s higher education, but also from the urgent and objective demand of developing Danang to become “a major socio – economic center of the country and Southeast Asia, a hub for entrepreneurship, innovation, education and training, science and technology of the country” as proposed in the Resolution 43.”
