From July 10 to 11, 2026, The University of Danang - University of Economics (UD-DUE), in collaboration with international partners, hosted the 11th International Conference on Accounting and Finance (ICOAF 2026), bringing together scholars, experts, policymakers, business leaders and representatives of professional organizations from Vietnam and abroad.

Building on the success of previous editions, ICOAF 2026 further expanded its international reach as part of the academic activities organized by UD in response to the Da Nang Economic, Finance and Technology Week 2026.

The conference was jointly organized with leading international partners, including the Institute of Global Finance at the University of New South Wales (Australia); Massey University (New Zealand); Southeastern Louisiana University (USA); Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (Malaysia); Duta Wacana Christian University (Indonesia); the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (United Kingdom); and the University of Parma (Italy).

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, highlighted the significance of ICOAF 2026 in the context of Da Nang's ambition to develop into an international financial centre, innovation hub and high-tech destination, while promoting the digital economy and high-value services for Vietnam and the region.

He noted that the conference provides an important platform for policy dialogue, financial market development and the sharing of international research findings and practical experiences, thereby contributing to the development of high-quality human resources to support the city's future growth.

The city leadership reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a favorable environment for scientific research, innovation and international cooperation, and to working closely with higher education institutions, businesses and partners toward sustainable development goals.

The plenary session featured keynote presentations by two distinguished scholars. Prof. Sumit Agarwal from the National University of Singapore shared insights into emerging trends in international finance, while Prof. Andrea Cilloni from the University of Parma, Italy, presented perspectives on contemporary developments in business management and financial governance.

A key highlight of the conference was a high-level roundtable discussion focusing on strategic directions for the development of an International Financial Centre in Da Nang. The session explored international models and best practices related to digital finance, green finance, risk management, governance mechanisms for financial centres, investment attraction policies and talent development strategies.

ICOAF 2026 featured 58 research papers presented across eight parallel technical sessions covering a broad range of topics, including accounting standards, financial reporting quality and disclosure practices; auditing, assurance services, internal control and corporate governance; corporate finance, investment decisions, business valuation and capital structure; asset pricing, market microstructure, derivatives and risk management; as well as banking systems, financial stability and regulatory and supervisory frameworks.

Through ICOAF 2026, UD-DUE once again reaffirmed its active role in advancing research and international collaboration in the fields of economics, management and finance. The conference also contributed to fostering innovation and supporting Da Nang's long-term strategy for economic and financial development and international integration.
