07/03/2026
On March 6, 2026, the University of Danang – University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT) signed a cooperation agreement with Japan’s Kioxia Corporation to jointly develop high-quality talent for the semiconductor industry.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Huu Hieu, Rector of UD-DUT, said that with more than 50 years of experience in engineering and technology education and research, the university has been entrusted with a new mission: to lead the Network of Centers of Excellence and Talent Development in Industry 4.0 technologies in Central Vietnam, particularly in artificial intelligence and semiconductors. He added that the agreement marks a new step in university–industry collaboration and will help expand the ecosystem for semiconductor education and research.

Niino Toshinobu, Chief Human Resources Strategy Officer at Kioxia, said Vietnam’s young workforce has strong potential and a solid foundation in analytical thinking, creativity, mathematics, logic, engineering, and technology—areas in which the university has established strengths. He noted that the partnership will create opportunities for both sides to cooperate in training and scientific research while contributing to the development of the semiconductor sector.
Under the agreement, the two sides will jointly develop and refine specialized training programs and advanced courses in semiconductor-related fields, launch intensive programs leading to internationally recognized certificates, and create internship and employment opportunities for UD-DUT students at Kioxia.

Kioxia will also send experts to provide consultations, share practical experience, and co-supervise students’ capstone projects focused on real industry challenges.
The partnership is expected to offer UD-DUT students opportunities to undertake internships, gain hands-on experience, and pursue career development at Kioxia’s factories and research and development centers in Japan.
