The University of Danang - University of Science and Education (UD-UED) officially launched its 2025–2026 Vietnamese Language Preparatory Program, welcoming more than 200 Lao scholarship students.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Vice Rector of UD-UED, the program is designed to strengthen participants’ Vietnamese proficiency so that they can meet the requirements of undergraduate and postgraduate study and research. Most of the students are from Laos.

The university reported that enrollment rose sharply this year compared with previous cohorts, with more than 200 Lao students joining the program. They come from Savannakhet, Bolikhamxay, Champasak, Salavan, Attapeu, and Sekong provinces under scholarships provided by the city of Danang.

University leaders emphasized that Vietnamese language training is intended not only to develop linguistic competence but also to build cultural and academic understanding through practical experiences, helping international students - particularly those from Laos - gain confidence as they continue their degree programs and adapt to university life in Danang.

The preparatory program is structured and practice-oriented, covering modules from beginner to intermediate levels (A1 to B2), Vietnamese for specific purposes, and a range of academic, practical, and career-oriented experiential activities.

UD-UED reviews and updates the curriculum regularly, combining language and cultural content with training in academic thinking and study skills that support students’ communication and coursework in Vietnamese.

The university hopes that the knowledge, skills, and experiences gained by Lao students will provide a solid foundation for them to become highly qualified professionals, contributing to socio-economic development in Laos while further strengthening the long-standing Vietnam - Laos friendship.
