On June 22, 2026, The University of Danang - University of Science and Education (UD-UED) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Palacký University Olomouc (Czech Republic), marking a significant step in strengthening international academic cooperation between the two institutions.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Vice Rector of UD-UED, reaffirmed that expanding partnerships with European higher education institutions is one of the University's strategic priorities in advancing internationalization. He noted that UD-UED and Palacký University Olomouc share complementary strengths and common interests, particularly in teacher education, scientific research, and faculty and student exchange.

Representatives of Palacký University Olomouc highly appreciated UD-UED's academic reputation, educational tradition, and active engagement in internationalization. They expressed their confidence that the newly established partnership would create bountiful opportunities for long-term and mutually beneficial collaboration.

Under the MoU, the two universities will promote the exchange of faculty members, researchers, scientists, and experts; co-organize academic conferences, seminars, training and professional development programmes; undertake joint research projects; and seek external funding from governmental, non-governmental, and international organizations.

The agreement also provides a framework for expanding student mobility at undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, as well as staff exchanges to strengthen institutional capacity and foster innovation in education, science, and technology.

A key initiative under the partnership is the joint development of a Vietnamese Language Proficiency Assessment and Certification System for learners in the Czech Republic, covering proficiency levels from A1 to B2 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The initiative is expected to facilitate Vietnamese language education while supporting future academic exchanges and student mobility between the two institutions.

During the visit, the delegation from Palacký University Olomouc also participated in academic discussions on Vietnamese language education and exchanged expertise in teaching and research with UD-UED faculty members and students across various disciplines. The programme also offered opportunities for cultural exchange and a deeper understanding of the host institution's academic environment.

The MoU establishes a solid foundation for broader collaboration between the two sides, contributing to the enhancement of education, research, and international engagement in pursuit of internationally benchmarked higher education.
