UD-UED hosts Presentation Contest "Exploring the Country and People of India"

29/01/2026

On January 27, the final round of the presentation contest "Exploring the Country and People of India"took place at the University of Da Nang (UD) - University of Science and Education (UED). The competition was jointly organized by the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam - India Friendship Association of Da Nang, the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (under the Embassy of India in Vietnam) and UD-UED.

The contest aims to create a platform for students in Da Nang to explore the culture, history, and people of India, thereby contributing to the promotion of people-to-people exchange and nurturing the friendship between Vietnam and India. The event is also a practical activity to commemorate the 76th Republic Day of India (January 26, 1950 – January 26, 2026).

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Vice Rector of the University, from 68 entries in the preliminary round, the Organizing Committee selected the 12 most outstanding presentations to compete in the final round.

This contest will contribute to fostering intercultural competence, critical thinking, and a desire among students to contribute to peace and sustainable development in the region and the world. The presentations in the final round are not merely the results of a competition, but a testament to a young Vietnamese generation that is confident, knowledgeable, and ready for global integration.

Dr. Monica Sharma, Director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre under the Embassy of India in Vietnam, expressed her sincere gratitude to UD-UED and the co-organizers. She expressed her hope that the contest would become an annual event, contributing to the formation of a global citizen community where students can exchange ideas, learn, and share common values of knowledge and culture.

Dr. Monica Sharma emphasized that in an increasingly interconnected world, academic and cultural initiatives like this competition not only provide opportunities for Vietnamese and international students to showcase their abilities but also encourage a spirit of cooperation, mutual understanding, and a collective effort toward a peaceful and prosperous future.

During the final round, contestants presented for a maximum of 10 minutes and answered direct questions from the Board of Judges. Many participants showed great creativity by using images, videos, props, or traditional costumes to enhance visual appeal and engagement. The presentations focused on diverse topics such as history, culture, religion, festivals, art, and prominent Indian figures and events, portraying a vibrant picture of a nation rich in tradition and rising strongly in the era of integration.

As for the final results, the Organizing Committee awarded one First Prize for the topic: "Mahatma Gandhi: From Personal Life to National Spirit," along with two Second Prizes and three Third Prizes to the outstanding teams.
