Recently, Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communication Technology - The University of Danang (UD-VKU), held working sessions to strengthen connections with partners in high-tech industries and fields such as nanotechnology, integrated circuits, micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), and artificial intelligence (AI).

During a working session with the Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nano Systems (ENAS), Federal Republic of Germany, on July 16, led by Prof. Dr. Harald Kuhn, ENAS Director, Dr. Tran The Son, Vice Rector of VKU, stated that the university highly values connecting and collaborating with universities, research institutes, and businesses, especially in high-tech industries and fields where ENAS has strengths.

According to Prof. Dr. Harald Kuhn, Director of ENAS, the partner is currently a member of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft network, Europe's leading applied research organization. Praising VKU's international outreach in  in the context of Vietnam's rapid development, Prof. Dr. Harald Kuhn stated that ENAS's strengths lie in research and development of ultra-small electronic systems (nano, micro), smart sensors, 3D integrated packaging, flexible electronics, and theirapplications in Industry 4.0, biomedicine, and autonomous vehicles.

Both sides shared common interests and agreed on the orientation to establish a long-term partnership, focusing on training human resources in high-tech fields such as integrated circuit design; developing a Master's program in Microelectronics and Intelligent Systems; and collaborating on organizing academic exchange and research activities for lecturers and students.

ENAS expressed its readiness to support and share experience to help VKU access technology and laboratories and participate in joint projects. They also committed to co-organizing an international seminar on semiconductor integrated circuits at VKU, tentatively scheduled for 2026, with the participation of many reputable academic and corporate partners, thus contributing to promoting the semiconductor ecosystem in Vietnam.

Subsequently, on July 17, VKU's leadership also initiated connections with Dev Plus Company, primarily focusing on coordinating the "Ready For AI" School Tour program.

According to Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, Vice Rector of VKU, the university always focuses on application-oriented training, creating numerous opportunities for students to update and catch up with new technology trends, especially in fields like AI, semiconductor chips, and digital technology, thereby contributing to the development of the digital economy and digital society.

Both sides agreed to promote the implementation of the "Ready For AI" School Tour Program, jointly connecting the university and enterprises to equip students with innovative thinking, career preparedness, and the ability to master new technology sectors.
