09/12/2025
On 5 December 2025, the University of Danang (UD) Vietnam–UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VN-UK), in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University (NTU), United Kingdom, held a Graduation and Recognition Ceremony for 34 new Master’s graduates of the MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) programme.

According to Dr Amy Wang, Programme Manager of the MA TESOL at NTU, this marks an important milestone in the joint training partnership between NTU and UD-VNUK, creating opportunities for learners and English teachers to enhance their professional qualifications, adopt modern teaching methodologies and mindsets, and meet international standards to advance their future careers.
Extending congratulations to the new MA TESOL graduates, the NTU representative emphasised that the relentless efforts devoted to study and research by each learner have been duly recognised and highly valued, culminating in the honour and success they celebrate today.

Dr Nguyễn Hiệp, Director of UD-VNUK, noted that the MA TESOL programme, developed in partnership with NTU – a prestigious university in the UK’s advanced higher education system – is grounded in a learner-centred philosophy. The programme combines theoretical foundations with practical application to meet the demand for high-quality human resources in English language teaching and research. As such, it stands out as a key highlight in the strategic cooperation between the two institutions and contributes to shaping the distinctive identity of VNUK’s training and research activities.
Commending the academic journey of the learners, VNUK Director congratulated the new Master’s graduates, their families and loved ones. He expressed the hope that the pride felt on this occasion will serve as a powerful motivation to strengthen their sense of social responsibility and to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired to their professions with a spirit of service and dedicated contribution.

On the same day, VNUK and NTU jointly organised a pre-departure orientation programme for 52 students admitted in the 2025 intake, before they depart for a nine‑month study period in the United Kingdom. Participants received guidance and practical advice on visa procedures, accommodation, research and study arrangements, as well as daily living and transport conditions.
With the continued collaboration between NTU and VNUK, the MA TESOL programme is expected to remain a key destination for learners seeking to develop advanced English language teaching competencies, contributing to the strategic goal of promoting English as a second language in the school system.
